%-} It's going to take me a long time to read all of this fun thread! When we bought her the previous owner removed the name "blossom" from her backside at my request because the lettering was BiG 10" high and pink. Didn't think my sweetie would go for that.

So, we've only had our little 16' Bambi for less than a week and this is the sequence so far. I said, "I want to name her, Duck!" (like a pull-toy) My husband, Skip, just looked at me, and said "Snake Eater!) (He's a former Green Beret.) Then I suggested Xena !...like the tv series.

Finally he came up with LITTLE LULU who was my favorite comic strip character when growing up. I think it also works 'cuz of Lucille Ball....not to mention my granny's name was Louella.

LULU for short.

BEAR...in California

and what's wrong with Californians I might ask?...! I've been living up in the Great State of Washington since right after The Big One, October 17, 1989, and I'm moving back October 13th, almost 16 years to the date I left there. I've missed it every single day I've been away. (But, you'll never take the 'Canuck' out of this girls...not ever!...I even tried my best to get back there...and almost married a Canuck, not that I need to (my mum was Canadian so I have dual you see), but it would just make it so much easier...and that didn't work out. So, perhaps, in another life, eh?)

______________________________

But, my REAL reason for writing....my Airstream's nickname is "BEAR"...what do you think of THAT "CodyBear"..?
....Funny thing was, when I bought him, I looked at the Serial number which started out before the numbers....1STBEAR0000000000 whatever... and I looked at that...and said "First Bear"...and he's been Bear ever since! and I'm,

Our '78 Minuet has the name "The Brave Little Toaster" or BLT for short. My wife loved the movie. The '79 goes by the name of "Thumper" since our 13 year old grandaughter thought that was the appropriate name when she was helping bring the trailer home.

What's in a NAME?

Hey Cody Bear!!!

yey! it's is cool, eh?
I couldn't believe it when I looked at my title...! Don't other Airstream owners have "Bear" in their Serial Number? Someone told me once that Airstream selects certain digits to identify the model and the year, etc.
Does anyone know anything about that? Do you Cody?

....... I'll be happy if I'm the only one! ...really!

I think I posted about 350 posts ago... But in the interim I have added a second Airstream to the fleet. It doesn't have a name yet...poor thing The 75 is known as Silver Queen. We have been calling the 80 "the other trailer", I hope it doesn't get a complex Eventually it's personality will come out and it will be named.
Cat, I have never seen a serial number like yours all of mine look more like alphabet soup. For example the one on my 80 is 231T0J1466 and I am not even sure that is correct.

Airstream names

Our '59 Globetrotter's name is "GlobTro" and he/she/it is pulled by "Pearl," a '61 Imperial. The '75 Chrysler Imperial and '75 Sovereign combo that we just picked up are now called "Thurston" and "Lovey."

Couldn't get through all the posts to see if my 'Stream nickname is used, but we've settled on The Silver Tuna...it was a nickname my partner and I would use to describe a potential client with large bucks. The irony to which is not in benefit of escaping my notice. I've been calling it several other names, honed to perfection and fluency during my halcyon days working in the oil patch of Okla.

We named our 72 Excella 500 Stella, I realize it's not much for originality but it turns heads when you are visiting at someone else’s campsite and tell your wife (named Holly) "I going back to Stella."
