The weather affected and named my trailer. Rainy, cloudy, and cold, but still a happy day when I brought the Airstream Ambassador 29 home. "Misty" is the name I chose.

We refer to ours as The Aluminum Mine, during its interior makeover and since Iím designed challenged it can be an Aluminum Pit, but however; itís worth the effort!

Our first AS, a 1976 25' Caravanner, was aptly named "Twinkie". When we sold it, the new owners had another name picked out for it, but as we corresponded with them and when we did the "show and tell" we called it "Twinkie" so much that when we left they were calling it "Twinkie". So it may still have the same name. Of course our new one begged to be called "Twinkie II"!

We are starting a community of Airstreams in Southern Oregon and they seem to be attracting women's names. I bought my '78 29' Ambassador with money from my mother's estate (may she rest in peace) and named the Airstream "Sally" in honor of her. My friend who is adding his '69 28' Overlander to the community named it "Violet" for his grandmother. And my stepson who lives in North Dakota picked up a '53 21' Flying Cloud and named it "Dakota."

Sounds like a neat venture. Keep us posted about your AS community.

I'm a lurker here....but I love this forum...almost as much as I love our Airstream. I had to share her name with you guys...LucyBelle...I tell my family and friends that she speaks to me (they kinda look at me funny) and she told me her name. But one of my favorite movies is The Long, Long Trailer (with Lucille Ball) so you kind of get the Lucy part...and then, we are from the South so she has to be a Southern Belle....

love like that...

Trailer names

Hi All,

We named our '66 Overlander Sylvia or Silver for short. Sylvia is a character in my favorite movie who was a great friend and that's how I see my trailer, as a great friend. I can't imagine her as a guy, but I'm sure there are some trailers out there that just demand a macho name .

Has anyone used Zeppelinium, or Zep for short? I guess I'd have to go with Zep I, Zep II and Zep III. Or nickname it (them) Led.... wait for it.... Led-Zeppelinium.

Our 79 MH is definately female. Have name most velicles over the years, some seem to be male like the 46 Ford pu (Albert or Bert). We kicked around several names until Jen came up with Wanda as short for wandalust. So Wanda she is. joe

Name Game

Hi Steve,
I think your trailer looks like an old fashioned pill. How 'bout Pill Box?

Tin Goose
Old Paint (1 vote for)
Tin Caboose
Tow Loaf
Recluse caboose
The Loose Caboose
On the loose caboose
Break loose caboose
Let loose caboose
Lay low tow
Jet stream
Up stream
Down stream
Dream stream
Gleam stream (yeah right!)
Team stream

By the way they are all up for grabs but "Tin Goose" if one catches your fancy

I looked all over for a tie in to the ARGOSY name and there just isn't anything good. An Argosy was an ancient trade what?

By the trailer parks ever have "an ugly camper rule'? Like Mine could be too ugly to be permitted to stay? Seriously
