Angry "Classic" Airstream Name

My cousin Pam just reminded me that Aunt Jean who Airstreamed in the 60's and 70's called her long trailer "The Silver Suppository".

Seems slightly off-center off-color humor runs in the family.

Talking

Recently aquired a 1976 Argosy. I think we shall call it "the White Pearl" and it shall be our friend

Cool Name Game

Nice one...

My Argosy should be called Old Paint.

Or I've got a few other names that I don't think have been used:

Tin Caboose
Tin Goose
Tow Loaf

Of course "Tin Goose" is the nickname for the vintage Ford Trimotor airplane.

I guess that could be, if the driver of that 18-wheeler behind you doesn't stop...

Since I'll probably christen the Argosy in the next couple weeks and take her on the road for sea trials in preparation for my new England trip in May I'm thinking about names again. I even visited rhymezone.com last night. Here's my lame list so far:

Tin Goose
Old Paint (1 vote for)
Tin Caboose
Tow Loaf
Recluse caboose
The Loose Caboose
On the loose caboose
Break loose caboose
Let loose caboose
Lay low tow
Jet stream
Up stream
Down stream
Dream stream
Gleam stream (yeah right!)
Team stream

By the way they are all up for grabs but "Tin Goose" if one catches your fancy

I looked all over for a tie in to the ARGOSY name and there just isn't anything good. An Argosy was an ancient trade ship...so what?

By the way...do trailer parks ever have "an ugly camper rule'? Like Mine could be too ugly to be permitted to stay? Seriously

Thanks,

Steve

We call our Safari 25' Ivan because it got crunched this year by Hurricane Ivan. Got to go back to JC for a rebuild, looks good as new.

I love the connotation of "Old Paint". It is a vintage unit, and it is painted. Old paint is reminiscent of the steady tried and true companion of the old west, how could you do any better.

Wink Our poll has now closed

Today our Director of Internal Affairs, which also holds the position of Fiscal Policy Director, Speaker of the House & self elected President or known by the local workers as "Queen Bee or affectionally De Boss" declared the name calling election closed. According to her declaration, all the meaningful ( the count of one ) ballots have been cast, counted & certified by the legal firm The Chads, located in the State of Florida. Our 2004 Safari which was informally known as " That Thing " will be officially christen the "WayWard Wind" ---see below---pending snow removal on April 15th. The ceremony will conclude with the breaking over the trailer tongue, of a plastic water bottle made in China, filled with Mexican recycled water, imported from Canada & assembled in the U.S.A by illegal immigrants with green cards & valid drivers licenses. The ceremony will be held at a undisclosed location, with uninvited guests & owners of SOB's. It should be noted that unloaded guns WILL be banned, along mean dogs & smoking of ALL kinds.
Best,

From the popular 50's era song "Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant

the Wayward Wind is a restless wind,
a restless wind that yearns to wander.
