I forgot to mention that S.S. is for Super Sized. Kind of a contradiction when you are talking about minnows, but it is a big trailer!

If not...does anyone remember what the name of his ship was?

Brad Pitt can kiss a rock... I'll take Johnny Depp any day! Does your husband dress up like Jack Sparrow on Hallowe'en? could be the 'bar maid"...!!!

The name of our trailer is 'Reality1'. I was just commenting on the name of the Silver Pearl (name is like the 'Black Pearl' on P. of the C.). It's a great movie!

My alternate name for her I found in a book on vintage trailers, someone who made one of the early aluminum beasts thought it looked like a blimp and called it "Graf Zip-a-Long". It's perfect for us so I may just change the name altogether since we can't seem to agree on Airabelle! (Would be Zippy for short of course) I seem to recall someone else here has a trailer named Airabelle so maybe we should just let them use it Unless someone has a better "Air" name for me, I can't come up with another one but am open to suggestions.

Love seeing everyone's pet names for A/S's here, I have to agree that the Drag&Fly is the best one yet!
Just now reading you named your AS Airabelle. I'm the one who claimed the name first, for my 71 Safari. Archives will show the problems Airabelle had...including having a window shot out. She recovered and has traveled many miles since.

We call her boog.

My kids put a clear sticker on the back window that says "life is good".

Inside it says 'boog si efil'

We call our 66 airstream .... boog. Funny how these things stick. Glenn

Bringing this thread back around as there are many of us that joined after the last post. Our 1966 Tradewind is "Icky" and the 1968 Sovereign is "Hunkajunk". Don't think anyone will put up a fight over those names!

On our way back from picking up our '75 Trade Wind. It was a cool night in Canada, the heat was on when we went to dinner. When we returned with some newly made friends and walked inside to show it off. One commented "Man is it Toasty" in here eh! So there you have it, no matter how many times we have tried to give it a name "Toasty" over rules any suggestions!

Well, I have never named any of the four Airstream/Argosys that we have owned.
Although, my neighbors have cute little nicknames for them:
1. Planter
2. The guest house
3. Zoning violation
4. Movable tool shed
5. Eye-sore
6. Not another one!
7. Where are you gonna put that?

Gosh, I love my neighbors! It is SO nice of them to make sure that what I am doing in my backyard is their business too. Gee, how lucky can a guy get!
By the way, you want some new neighbors?

I thought I'd call mine "Harvey" after the big white "Pooka" in the Jimmy Stewart movie. I have a 78 Argosy that is currently undergoing rennovation. He's big and cream colored and makes me feel good just to look at him.

We named our Airstream the "Silver Hilton II".

There is another fly fishing member of this forum that had already named his Airstream the "Silver Hilton". I thought this name was most appropriate for Airstreamer fly fishermen, and that is a picture of the fly called the Silver Hilton as my avitar, which is used to fish for Steelhead - a sea-run trout.

Steelhead are a beautiful, bright silver color when they first enter rivers fresh from the ocean. These fresh-run fish are called "Chromers", and are one of the most desired and sought after gamefish.

I am haunted by a love of Chromers, seeing them swimming in a river or streaming down the highway.
