Good to hear that things are OK Cat. You share one of my new year's resolutions and that is to stop complaining (particularly at work). That one will be hard to do but I'm going to give it a try.

I've finally settled on a name for our Airstream. Al U. Minniyum - just like the Paul Simon song "You Can Call me Al."

Now that the holidaze are over, I can settle back in to working on the A/S. Looking forward to finishing the polish job and all the loose ends before attending the Hobo rally next month.

Tin vs. Al UminniUmUmUmUmUmUm

WHAT'S IN A NAME???

I like it (the "Al Uminium"..)!

& I wish the guy who chewed me out a couple years ago were around now...(but "powertists" hide don't they?)---so he could see all the uses of the word "tin" on all these Airstreams. Craig, weren't you one of those who jumped to my defense that time when I was jumped ON for using the word tin on A/Ss...? OTFL...---! I just remember several of you PMed me. that.

& BTW...my addy(for those who don't know it---it's on file here on The Forum) is TinLizzy8131@yahoo.ca (or yahoo.com) I forget which one.

what's in a name

Some folks take everything, including themselves, pretty seriously. Some complain about calling the trailer metal, tin, toaster, caravan twinkie...etc. If we didn't love 'em and respect 'em we wouldn't be spending all the time & $ to keep them rolling. At the same time, everyone on the board has been very helpful with advice and I'm appreciative of all.

I know that I said we settled on Room service, but when we saw our trailer the name Iron Giant jumped out at us due to the dent in its head. We still are not sure of gender. Now I'm thinking Moose Lodge due to our love of Yellowstone National Park.

Man it is hard to come up with a name that will stick.

Tedd, how about the Bauxite Box?
You know, I am sure, that aluminum is refined Bauxite ore...

Silverhawk

This is one of my favorite threads that I have never replied to.
Silverhawk for the name came about so naturally, that I think it just told me its name itself. I wanted a name that I could use as my forum name that would reflect my newfound attraction to aluminium. I think it was the first day that I brought it home home. I have always given names to my vehicles. I recently picked up a 93 F150 4X4 in nice shape. The name Horse seemed so right, and so it is.
I have had bicycles named, Old Blue, Snowy River, and Gray Mares Tail. Just to name a few. It might be the color, or a feeling, or who knows what.
Bob...

'Bear", as you may remember, got 'his' name quite honestly---it's right in the Serial Number. I guess all Airstream's have numbers that tell the DOT or W.B. Club, or Airstream (I can't remember which),,,but it tells them what year the coach is, and what model it is...and there in my Airstream's serial number is lSTBEAR......etc.

I also get those feelings with my cars...the car I have now is a medium light very bright blue...like those vinyl-covered paperclips they sell at the office supply stores; & I call 'her' "CLIPPY" And being a 200SER/SX, she does "Clip" right along.
So, it's actually "First Bear"---OF COURSE HE'S REALLY THE "FIRST SILVER BEAR",,,and because I'm "Cat" ..it went together> Cat, Bear & Clippy..
