I would guess that Uwe's suggestion is right, but I don't know...we don't have anything like that.
You may want to start a new thread specifically asking what it is...more people will see it, instead of it being buried in this thread about CA camping locations.
The first available dates for group camping are in November!
Reservations for 2003 are being taken beginning Sept 1.
Small group is 7 or less and the large site will take 13.
If we want to go in September we can reserve for the week of the 22nd-27th. If we arrive on Sunday PM and leave Friday PM.
Sites with elect-water are available but not in the group areas. These are best found in the Monday-Friday times. They are not reservable.
With my (our) small holding tanks I would like to see us go and get sites with hookups. There is a dump station there and I have a blue tank for this. On our last outing to Tahoe we used ALL the water in four days and three showers with two grey water dumps.
We should move this thread to a camping page or something like that.
Thanks for doing the research. Looks like the camping there is as overbooked as it is in South Orange County. San Clemente is booked through Jan., and Doheny Beach is booked clear year round. They too said to call back Sept.1 for February 2003 bookings.
Pismo has full hookups, but that's even more of a shlep for the weekend. By the way, I can not do a full week, only weekends, perhaps a Friday through Sunday trip etc.
Anyways - let's keep on brainstorming this idea. Sounds like fun to me.
I'm into it. I do have a crazy schedule, though. Will have to plan it a bit in advance.
Schlep is actually spelled schlepp.
I think Mel Brooks used the word in one of his immensly funny movies. Or was it Woody Allen?

thurs through Sunday sounds good, but they are booked for Sat and Sundays for quite w hile,if I understand Brian's post.
I checked Lake Isabella today, the Lake Isabella RV resort looks promising at $ 24.00 a night for full hookups. Might be a good alternative.
Do you have room for one more on the beach? I could make a trip after 8/28/02. Work calls till then. Has anyone checked out McGrath State park, it 's down by Simi Valley ? - Ray
