Trailer accident

I dont understand why you cant just apply extra pressure to trailer brakes by manually moving lever. Many years ago i had a horse trailer push me hard on a steep downhill grade i hit the electric brake lever manually and snapped the rig back in line. I also would have thought that all brakes would hit the trailer slightly ahead of tow vehicles. Thank for the info about the different units.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll keep that in mind in similar situations. Thanks.

Well, you can...

and that's what you SHOULD do. However, in any emergency situation you do what you are trained to do. If you have never given any thought to what to do, or you don't understand what to do, it doesn't happen. Then there is also the panic factor. Some folks panic when things go wrong, then all is lost.

It comes down to experience.
