Time you spend in your Airstream?

I see a lot of familiar avatars when I'm on the forum researching or catching up on the latest.......??? Anyway, I was wondering that if all of you were honest, how much time do you spend on the forum vs traveling in your Airstream ?...... PharmGeek you're exempt from this one and congrats to you..... Columbus has finally sailed. Bob C, you however are not exempt.

For all of you, I am curious just how much time you really spend a year 'traveling' in your Airstream ? And, why not more?

Since picking mine up 4th of July, I've spent about 32 nights in mine.
I hope spend around 80 nights or more a year.

Please share

It's winter in the frozen North. Browsing the forums is as close as I can get to camping these months.

Traded the first trailer in and delivered it to the dealer in early October. The next one will be built starting 9 January. Lots of time to read and discover great suggestions to incorporate into either the trailer of stuff inside it.

For now we only get to do about 30 nights a year. Once we sell house, hope to do many more weekends, and retirement is about 4 years off and hope to do at least 100 nights then. So in the off-season I'm on Forums several times a day

Six to seven months a year touring about the country on the way to destinations in the south for winter. This is our fifth year with Airstreams, sure beats the many years with VW Camper vans for comfort but not for touring.

Since 11/15/13

8 nights since pickup date above

We've stayed a few nights in it in backyard during some aspects of kitchen renovation - as we are right now with new hardwoods being re-sanded and refinished and house is noxious - not a prob with second home in backyard

I would guess I will see 20-30 nights camping in 2014 - wife switched jobs and some limitations in leave for a couple years - we shall see

Hey PharmGeek, you were exempt... Ha ha.... Again congrats on the new baby! Any name yet? And there's nothing wrong with camping in the back yard as long as your wife knows......

We try to camp (or is it glamping) 1 weekend (3-4 days) a month between April and November, with a 7-10 day longer trip thrown in. Our current work schedule limits the number of weekends we both have off.

I've lived in mine full time since Sept. 2011. Baby gets new shoes tomorrow morning, then the first trip in a long time next week. Nice to be mobile, insured, and hooked up again!

When we did the "math" to see if the AS was a good purchase decision, we figured we'd need to use it about 3 nights avg a month to have it pencil out. We based this on what we'd spend on a hotel room, and having the trailer would have the forcing effect of making us actually get out on weekends. Winter messes up that calculation a bit, but Oct we did 2 nights, and Nov we got in 7 nights, so we are exceeding our min average so far. Dec-Feb will be tough unless we can get south.

30 nights a year is the min goal.

We do about 60 nights per year in the Airstream, some pure vacation, some logging in to work via DSL line.

I check the forum daily when I'm at home. And when I'm home, I'm often planning, researching or working on the tail end of our interior re-do.

All of it is valuable, refreshing and rewarding. I honestly think that I wouldn't enjoy the trailer half so much if it didn't give me something to tinker on and a bunch of great people to yack to about it.
