This Lights Up My Life?......
.....well, not quite, but it's still fun to come across finds for the FaN!
I never cared for the built-in fixture above the dinette. So, found this table lamp today. It throws a warmer glow, the brushed aluminum base suits the Flying Cloud interior perfectly, and spring green is my favourite colour. I like little lamps on the dining table because it reminds me of a Hollywood nightclub - way back when.
$14.95 at Wally World.
Has anyone else done something about that somewhat undesirable dinette light?

I also added a lamp on the dinette and one on the night stand in the back. It looks better!

I abhor bright and overhead lights any time, anywhere.
If we are watching Tv in the evening, or while having coffee in the morning, we light a candle in the galley area. This reflects off the ceiling and walls, adding just enough light.
Lovely, soft glow.

Pretty much the first thing we bought for the Blonde Bombshell was a 14" lamp from Target and found a 3500 degree (warm) bulb for it. White with a red shade. That gets setup on the dinette (just like yours) as the first step on "interior landing procedure." LOL
Our overheads are "surgical blue-white". Awful color. When I get a few bucks ahead I am going to swap them out for 3500's. But there's a lot of them.
I have a whole page or two in my notebook about lighting for the trailer. I want to add some sconces in the bedroom and maybe one more wall lamp in the lounge area.
Our unit has all light colors and the aluminum skin inside, so it tends to be a little on the glary side by nature. I need to tone that down and warm it up.
If I get real lucky, I might find an "Atomic Age" brass or aluminum lamp in airline or streamline motif, and I'd be in 7th heaven to have something like that. I might even pay more than 12 bucks!

I agree with all your comments! Lighting can reinvent a space.
I am involved in special-event design; we rely on FX lighting a lot. It reaps the biggest effect, but is surprisingly economical compared to other event costs.

Lights...I am just in process of changing to all LED, the first four went in fine, now I am working in the cabinets, trying to hold a light and a mirror to see the little holes to plug in....very difficult as I bend and loop around to get best position to install. Any ideas to make job easier? I have a Mason jar lamp with old marbles for the table, it has followed me through the years. Sbb

I also hate the bright overhead lighting. I put these LED strips over all of my cabinets direct wired to the 12v. They are controlled by remote and can be set to any color. I like that we can set it to a warm orange or funky purple depending on the mood.

I though the quantity of consumed beer changed the color of the
lights.

I'm okay with the overhead lights (albeit with some LEDs for those times when we're not camping with electricity), but the light above our dinette is double ugly. I occasionally search online for a nice 12 volt LED fixture to put in its place, but so far none of the ones I've seen have convinced me. The table lamp idea doesn't appeal to me as much - one more thing to stow, one more thing on the table, and one more thing for the cat to knock over (he's not really supposed to be on the table, but when we're not eating, it's hard to keep him off the table).

You could put these a anywhere.
