They do listen

This was my email to the suggestion department at Airstream:

Quote:
One tail light had to be replaced on my trailer because of water in the lens and I know of one other trailer that needed a replacement because of a dead tail light.

The wires behind the tail lights are so short that, in both cases, it was almost impossible to move the light far enough out to access the wiring behind it and it was very difficult to apply butt connectors.in the limited space.

There is plenty of space in the light housing to provide enough slack that the lights can be changed easily. I suggest that allowing slack in the wires be specified in the assembly procedure.
and their answer:

Thank you for taking the time to share this information. I will forward this e-mail to production . Thanks again!
For those who do not have it, the suggestion email address at Airstream is: suggestions@airstream.com

Answer

I have sent half a dozen suggestions and have received different, but appropriate, answers for all of them. In this case, it is obviously a production item, in others, it was design items or product suggestions.

Given the newness of the suggestion email address and the low level of inputs it probably draws, I would think they are answered individually.

Smile Live and listening

I received an email from Air Suggest [suggestions@airstream.com] this morning assuring me that they are truly real live folks that do read our suggestions. They obviously read this forum, as well.

After 35 years in product design, I will assure you that nothing is more welcome than constructive feedback that improves your product.
