The Worlds Longest Yard Sale Aug 4-7

covington, ky - gadsden, al.
do any of the following points match your profile?
1. i am a junque addict.
2. my tow vehicle is emblazoned with a bumper sticker that sez: caution- this vehicle stops at all garage sales.
3. id rather be in kentucky than glacier national park.
4. i am a confederate general from big sur.
if so, this trip might just be your stairway to heaven. anyone interested?....

Before acquiring my Airstream, my wife and I went on The World's Longest Yardsale several times in years past when there was neat stuff to be found. But wb13798 is right, and between that & a lot of people selling brand new cheap stuff, I don't see us going anymore.

Yes, in different trips, I have collected many tools.

For instance, do you know anyone who has a manual pipe deburrer for upto 2" pipe, or a 600 watt soldering iron?

I have relatives in Southern TN on the 127 Sale.
The event has become "different" with publicity. Vendors have had to take extraordinary measures to protect their spots, and their merchandise. Last year, my aunt and uncle had much of their merchandise of Whitehouse Vinegar jars stolen from their locked trailer as they slept in their RV parked right beside it on some of their land in the Sequatchie Valley.
Other sellers and shoppers have been held up at knife and gunpoint by theives who wait until an ideal moment to pull the heist. Others have returned to their vehicles to find that some of their treasures have walked off.
I am NOT saying don't go.
I am saying always be aware of your surroundings, and beware that there are people on the route that are there for your stuff, and the stuff of vendors at an extreme five finger discount.

Norby, if you do decide to come down, let me know. There are a lot of good camping spots around the Chattanooga area, including my driveway!

Norby, there will be a crowd. I am just saying that you need to be aware of your surroundings, and keep your treasures secured and away from temptation theft.
