The newest arrival

More photos to come ASAP
I just brought it home last night, and washed it in the cold rain today so I could get this picture to show!
It is a 1970 Safari Sidebath, It is complete and very original and has new tires and tows great. It will need some new upolstery and curtains etc...
I will be giving it a good going over and will offer it for sale in the classified section of this site as soon as I can, (it may be spring!)
If you must have this one before I can get it ready let me know.
Richardt In Bat Cave NC Zip 28710

I have a couple more to go pick up over the winter, and I will let you know when I get hem.

Can you tell us more about the "side bath" plan or layout? What is the length? Looks interesting.

It is 23' including tounge has a dinette up front w/beds and pullpout double on the rear side with a Bathroom on other side rear , the kitchen is in the center of te trailer on both sides. Of all the trailers I have ever had this layout is my favorite in the single axle trailers. I will get photos posted as soon as I can.

Hi richardt;

Looks real nice - I have seen quite a few 70 Safari's of late - this one looks in great shape - nice skin?

The layout sounds exactly like our Globe Trotter - but with an extra 2 feet

It is very functional in comparison to the front couch. With the 3 position dinette table - it is great for two for quick meals or for up to 7 yes 7 in our little trailer sitting at the table. And when it is away you have two couches to laz around on - mind you we need to pad up the old foam still to make it nice and comfortable.

The side bath I am not sure if it would have the wet bath or if with the extra 2 feet you get a separate shower??? Our little double at the back is a bit small - especially when you have to share it with a couple of dogs.

Looks like they added a bit into the middle of the coach - as it is identicle to our GT.

Also put the sink outside the bathroom - wonder if that was added after or if they did the same as the Caravels where they don't have the sink in the shower/toilet.

We are thinking of doing that one modification - but hard to make the decision to change what was not there - as we are pretty much pure on the GT so far.

She needs a bit of TLC but would make a great coach - we find ours really functional as mentioned - although a bit tight getting in the bathroom - you can still leave the back bed made up and close the door which is a nice little feature.

See you are in need of a few of those square light lenses.

Boy if you could make a mold of them and sell them you could make a mint - just ask Andy and how much he charges - they should be made out of gold!

And the catches get pretty expensive too. Instead of buying all new - we got a special acrylic spray paint and painted ours gold to match the rest of the trim.

It looks like they used the rest of the gold trim they had left from the 69's cause that stopped sometime in 70-71 and everything was silver in 68 from what I can see of all the photos in the past year or so.

That is too funny as we purchased ours on Friday, February 13th. So maybe this layout has something to do with the LUCKY 13 - as the layout is really really hard to find.
