The naked truth
Dear Abby,
I spend more money on my Airstream than on myself. Nothing is too good for her.
Golly those Nike tennis shoes look nice but I could buy a deep cycle battery for less.
My Caravel is my island, a refuge from the stormy sea of life.
I sometimes find excuses to visit her in the place I have her stored. I sit on the dinette bench and gaze in awe at this splendid home that Wally built. I think I'm in love.
I spend much of my spare time on these forums. Don't want to miss anything dontcha know?
I think it's great that a common man such as myself can own this symbol of American excellence.
I must admit though that as much as I enjoy my Airstream, I stare lustfully at others. I am constantly on the prowl for a nice vintage AS at a bargain price.
Oh that hard body and those delectable curves, what's not to love?
Am I obsessive compulsive? Is there life beyond Airstream? How sick am I?

Unedrstanding how you feel. We just bought another one yesterday, don't need it but they are so beautiful and it was such a good deal, couldn't sleep last night. Like you we are on the forum every spare moment. Annie

Dear Sleepless, Dear Sleepless,
You are in no real plight. You will be o.k. as long as your wallets not tight.
The feeling safe and secure away from the push and the shove.
It sounds to me like a bad case of, ALUMILUV...

Hey Rog,
You are not alone. I suspect that there are many here among us that share your affliction. However, remember to remind yourself that you love the " FREEDOM " that
your Airstream affords you. Don't we value the Airstreams because of their ability to bring family and friends together for
QUALITY, quality time.

Oh c'mon Annie
Don't tease us like that. Give us the skinny. What did you get and what did you pay? We won't tell anyone.
Silverhawk, you are too funny and I mean that in a kind way.
mandolindave, I've been trying for some time to come up with an appropriate name for my Caravel and you just gave it to me. Her name is FREEDOM.

Dear Sleepless, Dear Sleepless,
You are not alone. There are many out there like you, who love their Wheel Home.
My advice to you is to seek out these ones. Then you all get together and have some real fun.
Signed Dear Abby...
And another.
Dear Sleepless, Dear Sleepless,
You are in no great fix. There are many worse ways to get your kicks.
Now then about those wandering eyes. Just do'nt go being tempted by those s.o.b. guys.
Signed Dear Abby...
Hey, Rog
I wish I could take credit for originality, but John Prine's song Dear Abby, was the pattern for my replies.

I've got the sickness too, but it's gotten better over the past year. I used to watch the VAC classifieds every day, and check the RV Trader website at least weekly. Now I don't check them at all anymore. I've got my wonderful little trailer, and I want to spend some time improving it (not that Wally left much for me to do). I find I don't spend nearly as much time hunting around for another. Of course if I see one for sale by the road I have to stop and look, but I'm only human!
Instead now I hunt around for places to go, things to do, and have a whole folder of links to places I want to travel to someday. Oh, won't this winter ever end?!

Hi Rog;
I know what you feel and I'm in the same situation;
Why I love this old silver bullet ? because it 's an unique jewel that made the admiration of all people you meet; This piece of America, of independancy, this way of life;really a symbol.
you can't imagine the success in FRANCE; They never seen that before, except in movies, may be...;
To profit more, of this trailer, I've just rent one month location in a campground, near ... my home, from june to july and after we go to holidays in the south of FRANCE ( Saint Tropez , exactly) on august.
2 monthes locations.
The idea was, even if I work, I'll be able to spent the maximum time in the A/S and it'l be holidays before the holidays.
If the weather is not there, I can go home but i know it'l be there .
But the weather is always fine , inside...
That 's the life , in this way.
Bruno.

Hi Bruno
It's comforting to know that this obsession isn't confined to North America. Perhaps we have found something the world can agree on.
It sounds like you have a great summer plan. Best wishes to you.

Its also great to hear that the French ( or at least some of them) still like us!
I also have the obsession that requires me to assess how much I can play with my Airsrteam each month. What new things can I add to it, and improve on, and what new campground or state park can I explore?

what's in a name?
After much deliberation and head scratching, I have decided against the name "Freedom" and am dubbing her "Liberty Belle".
I have an Airstream. Life is good!

imaginary fictional issue
I was just looking at the photo section, and a very odd
happenning happened. The photos seemed to be whispering
to me. Stranger yet ......they all seemed to be saying the
same thing!! It was something like....
DUDE, IT'S SPRING, QUIT POKING ME, TAKE ME SOMEWHERE
One said her name was Alfred ( which I thought was strange)

Hello.. We got a 1975 26'ARGOSY and paid 3200 Canadian.. needs tires and all systems checked and an awning . It is just the layout I have been looking for in a galley.. needs elbow grease and a good bath.. but nothing soap and water won't cure. It has not been used in 3 years but is dry inside with no mildew.. The windows are the greatest in these trailers..Annie

Actually, it is a plague, usually not fatal. It can be cured by sending me your Airstream...
