Tell somebody you have an Airstream and the picture instantly pops up in their head. Tell them any other trailer name and you see the glazed look creap into their eyes.

Even people who aren't campers just seem to KNOW that Airstreams hold their value. There is a definite perception of quality and efficiency in both their construction and handling...and rightly so!
We were looking at GMC MHs when we decided to purchase this Argosy MH. We've loved our AS trailers, but are very impressed with the GMCs.
Ultimately, we chose to stay with an Airstream product so we could maintain our membership in WBCCI. There is an organization of GMC owners, but many members of WBCCI are like family to us.
To me, there are two endearing qualities of Airstream products. First, is the Airstream's potential of becoming a family heirloom. The second is the ease of handling and towability.
It seems that the Airstream (and Argosy as well) are among the few RVs that have the potential of becoming family heirlooms. While my '64 Overlander isn't exactly a family heirloom, it seems like a member of the family. It was purchased brand new as a special order coach by very dear friends of my family, and I became its fourth owner in 1994. I went on my first camping trip as a 5-year old in this trailer when it was brand new in 1964.

John,
I would like to do the same transformations as you (sofa)
Do you have any pics?
Because over the years, I have always remembered seeing an Airstream on the road and immediately forgot the white boxes.
This last weekend trip (230 miles round trip) scored 3 Airstream sightings on the road; two exchanged headlight flashes, the other was across a wide median and probably didn't see me.
I also shared the RV park I stayed in with a new Classic and sighted two other A/S in RV parks near the road.
I saw dozens of white boxes, but, of these, I remember only a Scamp 5th-wheel, because I once owned one.
