The '57 was a surprise!

As some of you may recall, I was going to surprise my wife with a new (to us) '57 Overlander for her birthday.

Well, I'm pleased to report that I did NOT have to sleep on the sofa in the Airstream that night (as was so astutely pointed out as a possibility!). SHE LOVED IT!

Four days worth of battling the musty smell of 6 years of storage apparently worked.....whew!

I'll post some pictures after I conquer some of the more pressing details of acquisition. It's in great shape, had only one owner (Ted and Mary Abel) and has done over 400,000 or road duty.

Following will be a series of bothersome newbie posts about different details....bear with me! ;-)

WE WELCOME YOUR POSTS... everyone learns from these threads, so don't hold back no question is too basic to ask here.
Good luck with your trailer.

Congratulations! Sounds like you've got a winner there!

Great!

Glad it didn't become your new residence! You know, I think I saw some pictures of your rig in a book or online somewhere, from back in the day. Saw it with either the owners names in the caption or painted on the trailer? I'll dig through my stuff and see if I can find it.
