Classic?

First, congratulations. Had the Classic even been announced when I ordered my Serenity, I might have gone this route. But, as some know, I am making my Serenity into a "Classic wannabe" with new cellular blinds, valences, and a lot of automatic lighting.

But, I am very happy for all the new Classic owners...

Welcome, glad to meet you. The new Classic has such a beautiful interior. You will enjoy it for many, many years. New trailers have so many more features than our old vintage ones. Our Limited was a top of the line Airstream way back in 1986. The wife's folks bought it new and traveled all over in it during their retirement. They spent many a winter in Texas Airstream Harbor and made many friends there. Now we have the trailer and plan on traveling in our retirement. It still is very comfortable for us. The "modern features" in 1986 might of been solid hickory cabinets, two furnaces, swivel rocker chair, Nu Tone blender built in, a microwave, and cedar lined wardrobe. Pretty pale compared to your new Classic. But so much nicer than a tent!

I wonder what a Classic will be 30 years from now?

Life is good!

David

Hi Joanne,

I'm glad to hear they let you mix the colors for the interior now! Maybe when I tried to do it, others did too. They told me it would hurt the resale value if they started mixing things. I am anxious to see the light color combo. I bet it will be bright and make it look more open. I think the sandalwood counters would not show the smudges like the black one does. Have fun truck shopping! I think they are all good choices. We had to have a long box, which is harder to find. My husband has a tool box that just had to be in the box and we also have a 5th wheel horse trailer we needed to put a ball in the box for. Without ordering from the factory, our choices were limited. Bert had to have the chrome extended mirrors. He was a truck driver for many years, so he loves his trucks. He made up a bike rack that attaches to the 5th wheel ball and that works great to take the bikes. Our batteries for the trailer are in getting evaluated now. Not sure what we are doing wrong with them. We've had campers for years.??

Joan

Msmoto, I've admired all you've done to your Serenity -- it's a beauty. As I just wrote on another thread, the Serenity was my first choice, but then that darned Classic came out. But I love the Serenity for it's lightness of being and if the recliners were still offered, we might have gone there. But in the end, the Classic was more of a no-fuss choice with no after remodeling to do. I just hope it's not too dark.
