On Tuesday, 21 June, we toured the Airstream factory, and at their suggestion, we spent the night there in the factory campground. We were the only non-Airstream there, which caused a few funny looks, but everyone was very friendly anyway.

We were able to visit with several of the people in the campground, and all were very willing to share their knowledge with a couple of newbies. We got some good ideas to discuss on the way back home, and some of the questions that will come out of those discussions will eventually find their way to this forum.

We're still researching the class of RV we want when we go FT in 2015, and certainly haven't decided what manufacturer we want, but Airstream is, at this point anyway, the only travel trailer we're considering. We're also thinking about a DP, and at the campground we found out that Airstream also made those (one was parked just across the road). They must be quite rare, because I've never seen one advertised on any PPL.

PPL is the big RV brokerage/consignment outfit. Google them, they are huge in the parts business based out of Houston.
