Smile take the VIN# challenge

How many of you have tried to decipher the VIN# in a post 1980 AS ? Did you go to the end and calculate if the "checked digit" matches ?

If you do not have it yet you will need this:
"How do I read my VIN from a trailer that was manufactured after 1980?"

Many are well aware of the number of incidences of inacurate titling (our 29' was titled 30'). So, for our peace of mind, I decided to check the VIN on our 32' 1990.

Not as easy as for the pre 1980. To all of you who have not tried it yet: How long do you think this takes?

Guess again.....a lot longer than that. All the business about make/year/length......: child's play.

The fun part is calculating the "checked digit". Anybody ready for a challenge ? Clock yourself.

It took me about 10 mn total, mostly errors of adding instead of multiplying.

In the end: I am happy to report that 242/11 giving 22, our trailer checks as a genuine "0".

OK, you chickens......I see 3 possibilities why nobody took my challenge:

1 _ you have lost your calculator and are unable to do simple math without it.

2 _ you find this is rather boring and not worthy of your time.

3 _ you are afraid to find out your trailer is hot

To save face, you are going to answer #2, but I bet the truth is #1 (or maybe #3?....think about it...HOT???)
