Step replacement

Does anyone know if I can replace my step on 2011 Flying Cloud to the new aluminum one being installed on the newer models?

I wondered the same thing. Airstream of Scottsdale apparently called Jackson Center and was told it’s not a simple switch out, designed differently. Some are saying they even prefer the metal over the aluminum one, that it feels and is more stable, I agree, but the aluminum one is sharp.

I personally don't like the steps in the newer Airstreams. I have a 2016 Signature model and replaced my steel steps with the Hickory Springs aluminum steps on the ETrailer website. It was a 10 minute job..... The bolts/holes lined up perfectly.

On our 2009 Classic we removed the aluminum flip flop step and installed a steel step that slide in manually and has one step that folds down. Took all for about two hours to do the job. The aluminum steps never worked right and was unstable or it was the operator, the new one works better and we like it
