stainless steel shower stall
Good morning everyone. We have purchased our first airstream (1966 overlander). It is gutted and ready to begin work. So my dumb questions will begin. I want a stainless steel shower stall that would fit over the wheel well. Is there a preferred company that has this down or can this be done easily myself?

We had this shower pan in our Bambi II fabricated by a shop that makes restaurant kitchen stainless steel equipment. It was quite a project as nothing in an Airstream is square. But the fabricator is a real artison. The stainless steel walls were simpler. They are laminated to the bulkhead walls.

Welcome to the forums!
In all the posts I have perused, I have seen very few stainless shower stalls, and none that go over the wheel. I think you will find that a stainless shower stall that goes over the wheel well as you describe, is a custom built item. There just aren't very many upgrade items like this that are available off-the-shelf.
Unless you have a source for stainless sheet, have access to sheet metal working tools (shear, brake), and can weld thin sheet stainless steel, I would suggest finding someone to do it for you. I would recommend that you look in your local geography for companies that do decorative architectural sheet metal work or that custom fab bathroom and kitchen pieces.
Good luck!

Another thought, is that you could seek out the commercial professional restoration guys and see if you could source a custom ready-made cabinet through them, as they probably have various suppliers that might do that sort of thing. You might also check out vintageairstream.com and look in the "Suppliers and Resources" section, and maybe you will find a supplier that could do what you need.

We had the pan made, just like Antique Peddler by a restaurant supply company...but we did all the panels ourselves. It's not over the wheel well, but it is over the black tank...same concept. Shown below before the toilet was put in...and after.
For more details on how we made ours, start here.
