Stained Glass Pattern -Airstream

Hi Everyone!

I just started a stained glass course to put my creative talents to work.
One of our projects is to design and work on, our own unique piece.
What could be better than an Airstream trailer in some unique or real camping type setting?

Does anyone have a stained glass pattern, or know where I can find one?
Or, any ideas where to search for one?

Thanks for your help

I'm no help. But sounds like fun. I think the beach scene for Airstream would be great. Or mountain view. Or even a classic truck pulling one. Do they teach you how to design your own plans?

Part of the challenge and fun of glass work is designing your own patterns. Have fun and keep us up to date on this project.

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."

Stained Glass Patterens

We are into our 2nd class, and so far we were told we can design our own patterns. That is all the instruction on patterns so far... lol.

I think a beach seen or mountain would be awesome!

I will keep you updated, and show the final results when completed... could be a while.

Thanks for your ideas.

One of the best 'enrichment' classes I ever took was a class in leaded glass from an expert. It both allowed me to play artist and engineer at the same time. I still have most of the pieces I made, including a rather dull practice piece. Still have all the tools in case the muse hits. If my AS had a teas parent door window, there would be a custom panel for it. Enjoy your class--it's lots of fun and satisfaction at the same time. When the light streams through a panel, it's a symphony of color.

Sent from my pocket Internet using Airstream Forums

Multiple Yaesu Ham Radios inside and many antennae sprouting from roof, ProPride hitch

How random is this? I was just thinking last weekend that I would love a piece of stained glass for the two upper windows in our Land Yacht bedroom... Last weekend I put some glow in the dark stars in various constellations above the bed. Pretty magical.

Keep us posted please!

stained glass airstream ad

Found this on the internet, it may be useful.
It may be best for a first project. Doing mountains etc. the first time
you learn glass may be a long and difficult project. But to each his own.
I have done glass for years and find it very rewarding.
Good luck

Hi Stained glass is simply beautiful in a airstream in our 73 we did the 4 vista windows turned out great, now on our safari I did the Golden Gate bridge on front door, care must be taken in design so glass will not break easy.As far as your project you will have to trace or draw your own design as none are available at least iv never found one enjoy

I came across a birthday card that has an Airstream on it. I think you could adapt the pattern and put the trailier in the mountains or at the beach or wherever your favorite spot is.

Here's a thought: you might take one of your photos of your Airstream and take it into Photoshop or a similar program and apply a filter that would simplify the details and colors into flat colors. Then you could make that into a pattern. I found this image on line and quickly ran a pallete knife filter. The simpler the original image, the better. If you do not have access to a photo software but have an image you like, you could send it to me and I could try a variety of filters.

It is a beautiful stained glass showing the iconic SF Bay Bridge. Thank you for showing it to us. Very talented artist. AEW

Is that a stained glass window it one of the stickers over the glass? I have a lot stained glass in my house but I can't see the bumpy ride going good for it in the AS.
