Spotted 8 Airstreams on I-5!

Driving from Seattle to L.A. I spotted 8 airstream trailers, mostly newer models. Was there a gathering?
Does anyone know where all these luxurious airstreams may have been heading?

Hey fabofabo,

I was runnung south on I5 last week (WA, OR, CA). Just heading home to San Jose. I saw maybe five Airstreams on I5 but at different times, didn't see any caravans. Was at an Oregon Reststop when an AS pulled up behind. And camped two sites away from a new 25' Safari at Valley of the Rogue. Niether were forum members though. Probably saw around 10 Airstreams on the whole trip. Mostly new ones! AS is selling well , but I must push Forum membership to these guys.

See you in October at Laguna Seca! Can't wait!

See you then!

Big Dee,
I did learn just recently that retired folks are being hired to drive and deliver brand new units to dealerships across the nation, then drive their towed vehicles back home. Could it be that this is the case with new airstreams as well? Since I have not seen airstreams being hauled on flat bed trailers, maybe this a similar set-up.

fabo,

Yeah, that's how mine was delivered but I didn't know it was retired folks. I thought it was professional driver teams. I don't know how they stay away from rock dings as I now have three!

Anyway, I did camp next to a few new units so there is proof that AS is selling to new folks. Without exception, they were all new to Airstream. And none were Forum members but a few were guests. I told them to REGISTER!
