Some old Airstream Pix of mine....

Hey Guys...

I can tell it must be winter here in Michigan finally.... I am definitely staying inside today, and have decided to upload a few of the old photos of my Grandparents' Florida winters in their Airstream.

Kinda neat to look back and remember those great days... They "wintered" at a nice park in Pompano Beach, Fla called Breezy Hill. There must have been a hundred or more other Airstreamers there in the Park, back in the day, as you may see by looking at some of these pictures. They were there from about 1964-65 (their AVION days!!) right up til they left for the last time in April 1976.

As I am still a relative "newbie" here, i am still familiarizing myself with the mechanics of this forum...I guess to access my pix (and I will add many more) just access under "member photos" commander31.

Nice pics Scott -- those are some memories! Ya done well with figuring out the photo albums. Let's see if you've figured out your User CP to check your karma.

It's neat that Airstreams would just gather like that without the Forums to tell them where to go and when to arrive. Don't think I'll ever look that old though (using "It's neat" might give something away...).

And that's what snow used to look like? We're still bare here.

It is indeed cool as anything to have relatives that were Airstreamers years ago.... Thanks Bob and Roger for your replies!!

You'll laugh when i tell you how I transposed those pix tho!! I don't have the apparatus needed to do a great job transposing slides to a digital format, I know they make such an animal.....but..

I actually put up Gramps old Projection screen, and showed the slides in a darkened room, and shot digital pix with my camera from the image on the screen.... I know,...kind of a cheesy way to get the pix, and they do look a little dark, and funky, but you get the idea, at least.

I must have fifty boxes of these slides of his, each box holds at least 200 slides. These few have barely scratched the surface, so to speak.... I'll whittle away at some of them very soon... i want to find some of the ones of us all attending the International Rallies, and our caravans across the U.S. with the Michigan Unit. Those will be some great shots.... Oh, the memories I have of those great days!!

Great Reviews of "old Photos" - I don't know if any has posted, but there is on our forums under /Archives/ pictures and floor plans of a great many (if not all) Airstream Trailers. I often go there for reference when I see a Model and Year Posted in the Forums to see what it looks like
