My first thread, don't know (or care really) if this is the right place or not - but here goes ~
There was an earlier thread (I couldn't find) entitled "Some Sad News" letting this community know that Gayland Stephens had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was undergoing extensive treatment at Baylor Medical in Dallas. I couldn't find this thread, so here goes . . .
As of last Wednesday Gayland Stephens & his wife Ella Faye Stephens were told there are no sighs that Gayland's tumor was active or even still alive. His radiologist told them that he felt Gayland's tumor had been fried.
The pain and overall wretched sickness Gayland endured over that 6+ weeks of radiation 5 days a week and chemo 24/7 seems, as of now, to have turned Gayland's tumor into carbon. Yes, his cancer may come back at any time in the future. They sometimes do. But I think for right now we should all reflect on his diagnosis -
pancreatic cancer is one of the worst, a real killer. Very few survive it. And yet we still have our Gayland with us. His doctors and hospital staff are simply amazed at this outcome and are the first to attribute this outcome to the power of prayer.
So to all you fine Airstream folks out there that offerred a prayer for Gayland's recovery, please know that your thoughts & prayers have all been answered. Gayland & Ella Faye, their daughtr Rena and sweet little grand daughter Addison, as well as his extended family of Airstreamers want to thank you one & all. This upcoming Thanksgiving will be truly memorable.
