solar effect?

after a little over an hour on the interstate, i pulled over in a rest area to pour some water off the potatoes...before heading out, i did a walk around. i noticed the hubs on the shade side were cool as a cucumber, but on the sun side they were very warm. has anyone else noticed this phenomena?

Every time I work on my Airstream in the sun. Black tires and wheels will attract and hold more heat, especially in the sun, even when going down the road. You can expect them to be significantly warmer on the sunny side than on the shady side.

Tire presures ...

Remember that phenomenon when checking tire pressures in the morning. Get to them before the sun!

For other temperature monitoring get one of these Gizmos not much expense for a valuable tool.
