Small Airsteam needed for Pendleton display

Pendleton Woolen Mills, Portland, Oregon is looking for a loan of a small vintage Airstream trailer (Bubble, Bambi, Pacer, Caravel, Globe Trotter, etc.) to use as the centerpiece in their display at the Portland Home Decorating Show in the downtown Expo Center, Portland, Oregon from February 24-28, 2010.

Pendleton will be setting up a camping display outside the trailer. The trailer door will be open but no entry will be allowed by visitors. Beautiful blankets will be displayed inside and outside the trailer.

Move in date is on Monday, February 22, 2010 starting at 8:00 a.m. Move out date is Monday, March 1, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or possibly on Sunday Feb. 28th from 6-9 p.m. if necessary).

Pendleton will give the trailer owner tickets to the event and a set of five National Park Series blankets in exchange for delivery and use of the small Airstream throughout the show.

If you have a nice small vintage Airstream that you are willing to loan Pendleton for this purpose, please contact Kathy Monaghan at Pendleton by phone: 503.535.5416 or by email: Kathy.Monaghan "at" penwool.com.
PM or email me if you have difficulties contacting Kathy.

This is a wonderful opportunity to display your small vintage Airstream in a fun setting where its appearance will be warmly enhanced. I hope someone in the Northwest can step forward for this fun event. Thanks!

right on Stef! I just LOVE seeing "little vintage" get props, exposure, and all around LOVE from the gen public... and ok, yes, I have tiny-vintage-envy, I admit it! sometimes my 23 footer just seems gigantic (like when I'm backing into my 23'6" driveway)

and holy cow, those blankets are great, you're gonna love them

At the home show

We went to visit our little buddy at the home show today. Pendleton set up a wonderful display, and even decorated inside. It's really nice, and it was fun to see all the people snooping around it, saying how cute it was and reminiscing about Airstreams

I forgot to mention, the long blanket mounted on the wall above the trailer is their attempt to set a world record, so it is getting some local press coverage for that. So I am watching the local news to see if I spot my trailer on TV. I heard they were filming right in front of the trailer

PS - the chair sitting right outside the trailer door has an issue of Airstream Life on it, opened to an article about the park blankets.

Stef, that's a sweet deal! Wish I could have come up with our Caravel to be on display and get five Pendletons, but I was at the Modernism Week instead.

Your pictures give me some ideas about decorating our Caravel with Pendletons... hmmm...

Looks great Stef, glad it worked out for you. Pendleton got on my s**t list a few years back when the moved the production of a lot of their clothing to China. and didn't bother to lower prices. I have quite a few Pendleton items and they have always been top quality.

Good score on the five blankets. Your trailer looks great. Just checked the website and it was not that easy to find the National Parks series.
Pendleton Woolen Mills: Search Results on 'national parks'

hope this works for you.

Hi Paula:

I don't know about the googie pillows, but the red, white and black blanket is the Churro Saddle Blanket:

Hi Stef:

Your Caravel looks very cozy, wooly and warm. It must be getting excited about going camping! Thanks for stepping up and helping out.

Ha ha, the 'googie pillows' are mine! They were already in the trailer. Personally, I think I would have stuffed them in a cupboard, they don't really go with all the beautiful stuff they put in there - maybe they figured they looked 'retro', which is why I keep them in there.

Off topic, are you going to Fort Stevens after the show? or back to WA then the NW rally? We still plan on getting there on Wed. Looking forward to meeting more streamers.

The trailer will be coming home next Monday, and then we'll have a few days to charge it up, clean the tanks, and get ready to go to the beach We'll probably be down at Ft Stevens on Friday. It sounds like some people are getting there early, I'll bet you'll have a nice time visiting as the crowd grows.
