Shower for tall guys
I am thinking about an airstream. I am 6'-4" tall, and am wondering if I can stand up in the average airstream shower.

I'm 6'4" tall and have a side bath in a 31' trailer. I don't have any problem at all. In fact, there seems to be more room in it than in one of our showers at home.

The good news is that you won't be in there long. I've been in a flat-roofed motorhome with a dome skylight over what would have been a 6' shower. I'm 6' and this was a great solution that could never work with a curved wall Airstream.
I rarely have a sewer hookup at campsites we prefer. Filling the grey tank is often a concern if we are staying more than a couple nights, so I'm often pulling on the flip-flops and headed for the campground showers. My Safari has an outside shower with great headroom but the neighbors can't help but stare...
I've asked a 6'4" former moderator to look in on this thread. Come back with all your questions, okay!

I'm 6-2 and I have no problem in the shower. Of course Mine has a seat in it and that is nice. I would not call them roomy but they are usable.

As a 6'4" tall guy, the main thing you need to consider is your slleping arrangements. Be sure you get a bed that allows your feet to sort of hang off the end. Our first Airstream was one with a rear bath and the bed had walls on each end. I traded that one off because I could not sleep comfortably in that bed. The bed should be your biggest concern.

I agree with GStephens, the most significant issue is the sleep arrangements. Being 6'5" tall, I have always been on a quest for a comfortable night's sleep. I will tell you that I have never been comfortable in an Airstream shower. One of the really nice features of our new trailer is the skylight dome over the shower that allows me to stand up straight with an additional 6" clearance over my balding head. While it's not a huge issue, after twenty years of bending over or sitting down in Airstream showers, it's a nice change.

Too Tall
One of the disadvantages of being 6'4" tall as I am, is that shirts never fit, cars are too small (gee, I have to buy another Tahoe?) and showers are always too short. A few years ago we went to the RV show at the Big E in Mass. and I stood in 100's of SOB showers and didn't fit in a single one. In our Safari it is no different. Having spent many of my younger years on sailboats, no big deal. As others have mentioned the bed is key! Our bed is a wonderful 78" long and I love it. Hey, a shower for 10 minutes, sleep four 8 hours, you do the math. A cramped shower is a small price to pay for owning an Airstream!

Hi--My husband is 6'8", and my son, 6'4". We have a vintage airstream, which works great for them as long as no one leaves the upper storage cabinet doors open! (We did have one major disaster!). The shower is uncomfortable, but with the "hand held", it's do-able. You hardly spend any time in there anyway. Bob and Donald mostly use the facilities wherever we're camping, and if you're boondocking, your shower will be very brief.
For us, the problem is the beds. In a vintage trailer, the biggest we have is a small double. My husband sleeps there by himself, kitty-cornered, my son and I each get a twin, and my 125lb, 5'9" daughter uses the pull down bunk.
I don't think you're going to find any other trailer that's better for your height! Gail
