RV show at Rosemont, IL

I'm heading off to the RV and Boat show at Rosemont today. It is a smaller show than the one at McCormick Place in Chicago. I didn't have my trailer then so I didn't go, that and I don't like big crowds. Hope to run into one of the "gang" at the show. Going to check out the new Airstreams and the Chriscrafts. Will report back on the field trip later.

I'm back....
Kewl show B) Spent some quality time at the Airstream dealers section. R&R RV is my local dealer I guess. Man is it going to be a haul if I want to head out to his place to get that "New Trailer" smell :P Prices were better than I thought. Talking to the sales guy, he mentioned that there is a chance of a "Classic" styled motorhome coming out in a year or two.

Man the feel of the SOB's was real shaky. I guess once you have had Aluminum, you can't go back. Speaking of aluminum, there is a new Thor line coming out. Tab or T@B as they put it. Kind of a "Canned ham" Airstream that has been shrunk.

Tedd, I saw about 6 of these tear drops sitting on a dealers lot back in Jan. on a trip to Texas (don't remember which state)
They are different from the standard SOB. Kinda nice, maybe popular with the street rod crowd. Would look good behind my 29 Model 'A' roadster. My A/S even though small, is to big to take for a 3 day street rod show. And the misses won't sleep in a tent because of the last tenting experience (but that's another story-nightmare)

New Appropriate Tow Vehicles

The VW Beetle, PT Cruiser or Chevy SSR would look good towing the T@B. I think it would be a great weekender in more wilderness area state parks and national forests as a step up from a tent. I can remember many rain out camping weekends where one of these would have been desirable.

Till,

I wouldn't take a go kart to that local dealer!

FYI......

They are not bad folks personally, but as for being a good dealer, knowing the product and being professional, we'll, let's just say they have a LONG, LONG way to go.

I bought my first Airstream from them a bit ago and when I recently upgraded late last year, to put it into perspective, I drove an extra 5 hours round trip to buy elsewhere.

Feel free to PM me offline if you want more details.

We just returned from the RV show a few hours ago, saw the T@B, and it was pretty awesome, had me second guess the airstream....Just kidding, but it was great, although I tried to imagine cooking in the thing, I would litteraly have to cook on my knees. At 6'4" I was taller than the trailer.

On a non thread note:
Saw my first NEW airstream today.....wow, an undescribable feeling. They were the best ones there....ALL of the SOB's looked the same....Sad really.
