Question RV Park Superpages Scam or Not

I keep getting an ad on the internet for RV Park Superpages. They claim $10 a night or 50% off at a large number of campground/RV parks around the country. It has a 2/4 year membership that averages 20-30 bucks a year. Anyone heard of it or used it? Seems reasonable but I don't like to drop money down a rat hole. Can't find anything about it on the internet.

Regards,
DH.

Now you have my interest. Let's look more together.

Looks like one of a huge number of these kinds of sites.

Just for kicks, I found our park. Pretty interesting. They've got the name of the park with no contact info. There's a picture that looks like it might be from southern Utah. And the map indicates that we're someplace in Alabama.

Junk site.

You get a lot of snow for Alabama don't you Lynn? Must have used my old GPS...threw me in the middle of Lake Michigan once, without a boat.

I looked up Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls Minnesota, on the St Croix River between Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Their map had it located between Atlanta and Birmingham. I'll bet it's not too far from your park in Angel Fire New Mexico.

Maybe it's a portal to a fifth dimension wormhole.

The RV Park Superguide Premium Access was what they wanted to sell. I checked today and the page with the ad has expired as of 2/17/2011. There's still a drop down tab on the web site to upgrade to premium membership to get the discounts. Unfortunately I registered on their site so they have my email which should net me a variety of email ads once they sell the list of dummies like me. I tried checking their free super pages and they have an extensive list of campgrounds, etc., but when you drill down or look for maps -- nothing. Thanks for the replies and if anyone hears something good about this deal please let me know. It was very tempting and if on-the-level, is definately a good deal. Unfortunately it looks like a little bit of a scam to me. Once again, I can't tell for sure and am not ready to send them any money. DH>

RV Park Superpages Doesn't Look Super

I had also run across the RV Superguide (that redirects to RV Park Superpages) and wrote about my experience with it at my blog, RVing Here and There.

this company is a scam. i signed up with them in june and i stayed at the parks that were on their list and every rv park i stayed at has never heard of them. they promise discounted rates and nobody is even recognizing this company. you cannot contact them either as their e-mails are bogus. please be warned, this is NOT a legitimate company. i wished i would have done my homework and investigated b4 i spent my money. i am trying my best to warn people in these forums and blogs.

If you used a credit card, did you file a claim for fraud? You should get your money back.
