So, did we ever figure out if Jimmy Buffet had an Airstream? If not, he sure should.
Next time this guitar player hits the road it will sure be in an Aluminum band bus, if i have anything to say about it. Although I must admit the Silver Eagle was a serious road cruiser. Sometime I will have to post a photo of it.

Bobby, you almost got away with not getting your third rivet acknowledged. Congratulation to you and your 1965 Globetrotter.

Our guitar picking friend, Alansd from Atlanta, Georgia earned his fourth rivet today.
Congrats Alan and please tell us, doesn't earning your 4th rivet make you feel a lot better than getting a stinking gold record?

Two ... and counting

I just noticed that the second rivet has popped up.

Gosh ... it looks like a long way to three rivets from here.

Just returned from visiting my baby in the storage yard. I installed a shade over the Fantastic Fan in the bedroom area. Sun in my DW's face through the fan woke her up both mornings we used the trailer so far.

I also put in a set of "TV Grips" to hold the TV in place. Kind of makes me nervous, but they claim to hold 50" and the TV couldn't weigh more than 5# to 7#. The TV is really ancient, so if it does ever fall, it will be no great loss and a good excuse to get a better one.

Would be interested in yoour "TV Clips" John - Where did you get them, probably could use them with our TV as the tabletop is wooden with no skid shield.

TV Clips

I bought them from Camping World on sale. They use the strongest 3M pads made, yet are supposed to be removeable without harming most finishes, including varnished hardwood. They look fairly nice and come in black and white for about $8.

The set of two latches that I have are supposed to hold 50#. You can use two sets on larger objects or go to the "Super TV Clips" which hold a lot more weight; bigger adhesive pads, I guess.

You put them at the diagonal corners of the TV or whatever else you are attaching. A clip goes on the table and a clip on the corner of the TV. There are short, tough belts that connect the clips. There is a thumb latch on each clip. I had to use a table knife to open the latches because they really clamp down hard.

They recommend that the clips be placed 24 to 72 hours before tension is put on them. I put mine on yesterday and will test them Monday afternoon when I bring the trailer home to get ready for a Tuesday trip.

Well, according to Andy, The new "official" rivet lounge is supposed to automatically acknowledge members reaching 3 rivet level and above.
Until the script does what it is supposed to do, we can congratulate Craig (Davidz71) and his 1977 Excella 500 31'
and
Rob and Shari (insideout) and their 1964 Globetrotter 'Maxwell'
for becoming 3 Rivet Members!
