I happened across this website:
http://www.recalldata.org/recall-directory.shtml
I was suprised to find Airstream related info. Some may or may not know of these.

Airstream recall 1969
Silvertwinkie, Thanks for the information on the recalls. On the 1969, it only says Electrical System Battery. What exactly does this mean?
How do I check this out?
Thanks,

Don, I see what you're talking about. It is very vague, I wish I could answer your question. It could be that way due to the age or that the website could not get the exact info, just list the issue.
I would contact the factory (Airstream) and ask.

Recall info for '81 MH
I have three that are posted in a recall site.
1. Service brakes, hydraulic: power assist: vacuum
2. Suspension: rear: springs: leaf spring assembly: leaf
3. Equipment: electrical: air conditioner
I have no idea if the PO ever knew of this or had them fixed. I've not had any probs with these items (that I know of), and I just wanted to know if any '81 MH owners have had any of these issues looked at.
When I mentioned these to the Chevy truck dealer he told me I would have to ask Airstream about it. I think they just didn't want the hassle, since this stuff is mechanical, not coach, with the exception of the AC (if it's the roof one). It's supposed to be done at no charge to the owner.

Well, IMHO, yes on #1. #2, given the age and such...it's might be a long shot and as for #3, I think you answered that one.
Having dealt with GM, I know getting $$$ out of them is like standing in line at a government office....you never really know what yer gonna get!

I think since the unit was delivered by Airstream, they are the party responsible for issuing the recall and keeping track of what and what hasn't been repaired. It may eventually have to go to a GM dealer for servicing but you have to start the process with Airstream. They issued the recall. These are safety issues that probably have no expiration date as far as the manufacturer's obligation to repair at no charge.

I guess I can see it both ways, they are responsible, but at the same time, from 1981, heck, it was hard to even find parts for a 1980 Olds "B" body that had hundreds of thousands sold over the last 20 years, even as early as last year I was running into parts issues. Filters and common replacement parts are usually everywhere, but when you start to get into specific parts that were only on a few platforms and not made in however many decades.... Don't get me wrong GM does usually have a vast parts bin, but sometimes, in some cases, unit specific parts can be harder to find....sometimes, as the years go by.

Our Ford was recalled but wasn't in the list. Was recedall because it could burst into flames at any time even with the key out.
