Rear view camera

Our 2016 FC did not come w/a backup camera. I am seriously considering the purchase of a wireless Voyager WVOS541. I have heard that the aluminum skin may interfere w/signal reception and/or clarity. The monitor will be in a diesel pickup. I have also read that a oil burner’s electrical system may alo interfere with picture clarity. I am asking for any personal experiences with such equipment from all the ASers prior to spending this kind of $. My many thanks in advance for your time and replies!

Installed the Voyager on our 23FB. It does lose the signal from time to time for 3-5 seonds, but otherwise functions normally.

No clue about oil burner electrical interference.

Highly recommend the 7" screen.

...not with that model. But this one, it has plenty of range, when tested after install I was able to get 1/4mi away before losing signal. Hitched the Airstream has not been an interference problem.
POI...it was $61 cheaper when bought 7/18

Attached Garmin camera inside rear window. Transmitter lays on bed. Camera always works. GPS and camera on one screen. No drilling outer skin. Good for back up. Not so good for driving.

Driving is okay, you can see what's back there, it's just that the resolution is not exactly HD.
Mine looks out the back.

Used Velcro👍 ...ran the wire down & under the gutter thru the opening for the lift arm and to the 12v power port next to the center credenza, lighted push switch.
Added bennie... take off for winter storage if needed.

I forgot to mention I looked at the furrion however, they're on an 8 month back order (so I was told)

We used an out the back window for two years. It works, but not nearly as well as the outboard camera. Rear window distorts. Fog or rain makes it less effective and there is lots of glare at night. The upgrade to external mount was worth the cost. Resolution is good, but not as good as the mirrors at distance. Pat

Two times we have needed to backup in a hurry. Once was being guided into a deadend road by the GPS. Saw deadend sign. Flipped on the camera to see no one immediately behind us. Backed up thru the intersection. The other was similar pulling into a guys ranch. No time for a spotter.

I don't use the camera while driving. That's when the outside mirrors are used.

I have used the Voyageur wireless unit on our 27'AS towed with a 2017 Ford F-350 crew cab short box with a Leer canopy. Never have had any signal issues at all. The camera is exterior mounted below rear trailer clearance lights. The monitor is bungy corded or elastic banded to the rear view mirror. The microphone/sound feature works very well too.

I use the NUCAM. Link below. Works great and show the feed on the cell phone. Great for seeing what is behind us while driving. The only drawback is the charge lasts about 8 hours but we try to not drive that long at any one time. Attach the magnet to the frame under the rear bumper.

No issues with the Voyager. I had the same concerns regarding the aluminum on my 25' AS but it works perfect.

Our Voyager has never had a dropout on our 25' in the 8,000 miles since I installed it.

I kick the wife out to look when backing. She screams when I get close to something. Signal Clarity is awesome- as long as I have the windows rolled down. :-)
