Protagonist

Haven't heard from him for a long time. I know he had surgery, pray all is well. He's an asset to the forums.

You can click on the arrow in each quote to go to the other threads. The last post by Protagonist was in January I believe. When we quote someone here, that person will get an email to that effect, if they have toggled on that option in their User Control Panel.

One word, ''GIRLFRIENDS''. That would explain everything. I can't think of anything else positive that would distract them from the forum. My first post was on Panama Red's thread, and I miss Protagonist the engineer, precise solutions. Chaplin Kent once a moderator, sold his trailer due to illness...my prayers for all.

I pm'd Protagonist in December, I think, as he had cancelled at CanOpener and I'd been looking forward to meeting him.

I was concerned for his health, after that heart issue.

He responded that he had a "girlfriend", and they were involved in "plans".

I wished him well, but haven't seen him back here.

If he's in love and happy, that's a good thing.

Girlfriends and also perhaps it's somewhat driven by level of interest. Quite simply, we've collectively resolved a lot of different issues on the B forum over the past couple of years. Someone with Protag's background (engineering) needs a high level of stimulation to remain fully engaged. With fewer new problems to sink teeth into, interest might wane because there's a reduced feeling of purpose.

My husband and I are much the same way. We are still working on rig modifications and there are other engineers on the B forum who are doing, or have done, similar projects, so hearing about their stuff engages us. We are not retired, not in a high socialization phase of our lives, so the communal aspect offers little draw. With my working lifestyle, I want to hear about projects, not rallies. I couldn't make the time for a rally if my life depended on it - not while I'm still running my own business.

Where is Protagonist?

Anyone know why we haven't heard from forum member Protagonist lately. I miss his knowledge and humor.
