Im most of my years of camping, I had not come across any campgrounds that had LP gas at the campsite. Not to say they don't exist, but the majority of basic offered "hookups" were water, sewer and electric.
Well, yes, gas is a utility, but not one that is connected to your rig directly from services offered by the campground at your campground site. I am looking for services provided right at the campsite from a fixed location like a water faucet or an electrical box or a sewer hole.
We can play the devil's advocate all day long, but I personally don't count that as a hookup meeting the above criteria. We all bring LP gas and all need to refill in pretty much the same manner. Now if you have been to a campground that has an LP gas connector that you connect to your A/S directly at the campsite, it would be a first that I have seen and worthy of an "other" poll selection.
pap,
Polls are a way of finding out what type of equipment other people use out there, what changes they have made and how they use it, among other things. Sometimes we are interested in seeing where we are among other Airstreamers. The current poll is interesting to me because I'm also curious what others feel is their most important utility consideration while camping. I boondock 95% of the time so that is how I voted. The other 5% of the time I would have to mark water next for showers then electricity for the AC during the hot summer months.

I prefer water. I have batteries, and a generator. What the wife and I like is taking showers in our Airstream versus using the campground showers. Especially the showers that make you feed quarters into them!
I guess my second choice would be sewer, so as not to hook the blue tank up. But I have never seen a campground with sewer and no water or electric.

As strange as this might seem, my number one priority when it comes to utilities when I am traveling solo (non-caravan/rally) is electricity. I have three solar panels on my coach backed up by three gel cel batteries; but unless I am on a caravan or at a rally, I must have electricity for my air conditioner.

Thanks all for your great input. I really wanted to try to see where other fellow campers fell on the subject. It looks to me like we are all pretty similar in taste (besides a great camper) and creature comforts!
You....Didn't know that those "vintage Airstreams" have funny lamps that run off of "propane"??
Could it be, why it's sooo important to have propane hookups~?
jajajajaja
ciao
I have a neat little single mantle lantern that runs on butane/propane fuel cartridge. I really like it, as it has a pizo ignitor, no messing with matches. I have also purchased "lantern sparklers" at Wally-World and installed them on both my propane lanterns.
