Pm Not Working

Our PM has not been operating properly for some time.

With ZERO PM's on file, we received a note saying the box is "FULL."

Please send any inquiry or message direct to our e-mail.

http://www.inlandrv@aol.com

Hopefully, Andy can get this fixed.

Andy,

I have run into this problem as well. All messages count towards your maximum message number. Inbox, Custom boxes, and sent messages count. I think the max number is 200 total. There is a way to not keep a copy of sent messages by un- checking the save a copy of this message box.

Hope this helps

Cleaning out your folders...

As thenewkid64 stated all messages count towards your total. Since we are pushing 2,500 members I cannot really up the total messages per member much more due to tremendous server requirements if everyone maxed out their PM boxes (that would equal half a million messages!)

So you will need to delete messages from your inbox, sent, and custom folders.

I wish I could increase the total messages for the high volume users, but it is a global setting for everyone.

If the server is down, PMs are not available. It is a single point of failure. Email is much better.

For many of us who log on from diffrent locations the PM system is great. I cannot get my personal email at work, but can logon the forum. I like the email notification system, but also like the ease of use the PM system provides.

To each their own.

I was not aware that "SEND" was also in our PM.

However, we certainly did not send 200 plus PM's.

Therefore it must also count "REPLIES."

Some form of explaination to the users of the "FORUM" I think, would be very helpful, and eliminate confusion, as to what is really counted.

Yep

Andy,
It's just like MSN OUTLOOK and, some of the other email programs.
If you send a reply, (SEND MAIL) it keeps a copy of that, as well as the "TRACKING" as to when the other person read your reply.(In this case)
I went in and, deleted all of my old SEND mail as well as the Tracking email..Not to forget the INBOX. That one was in much better shape as I never keep much there.
In just my SEND folder, it went back to Sept, 2k2..
If we all did that, then...it would help clean out each "mailbox".
ciao
