Poor seller,
it seems that some one has replaced the photos of his "dent and ding free" Airstream with some photos of a unit with many clearly evident dings and dents.
I hope this guy finds the person that replaced the photos of his cherished Airstream that was stored inside its whole lifetime.
The Clear coat is in need of attention as well, stored inside eh? Hmmm
1: to make a dent in 2: to have a weakening effect on intransitive senses: to form a dent by sinking inward : become dented

It may have been stored inside, but spent ALOT of time on the road in between.
I agree, it is a decent trailer...just wish the seller was a little more honest in it's real condition. If we can see things that vary from the breif description, one can only imagine the things that aren't visable in photos or described ~

if the seller thinks it has no "dents or dings" despite the obvious golf-ball size ding to the left of the battery compartment,
AND
if the seller believes it "has always been stored indoors" despite the obvious clearcoat damage caused by sun exposure,
... how much can you believe his statement that "it never had any water leaks of any kind!" (Personally, I've yet to see a 25-year old trailer that never leaked.)
There're dents and then there're DENTS - just ask campcollector. You just have to keep in in perspective.....
Oh The HORROR!

This is exactly the same layout as my 1971 Tradewind, which also had no dents, perfect clearcoat, and had never leaked. Yeah right.
However, this Excella does have the same interior layout as my Tradewind had.
Dare I say it...my 1978 Argosy was just as described with "NO" leaks. It grew up and lived in New Mexico before coming to Oklahoma; however, it has had some really hard storms since being adopted, with no "visable" leaks. Had the carpet out and the beds out to put in a new floor. Could no find any evidence of water or soft floors. I feel very lucky--this is a great coach. No real dents or dings, but it has had a tree scrape or two on the top. Some of those we did, but found a great color match in Krylon paint. It looks pretty good.
Rule of thumb #1: All Airstreams have some skin marks and deformations, even well-kept ones. The question is, how bad are they?
Rule of thumb #2: If you can see defects in web photos, they will be much more prominent in person. If you can't see them in web photos it does not mean they are not there.
Rule of thumb #3: Web photos made in the dark, or improperly exposed, will hide even more.
Rule of thumb #4: An e-bay seller who uses bad photos *and* inflated prose is hiding more than is possible to tease out from the photos and description alone.
...and the axles, it's a pretty handsome coach. Just Caveat Emptor!
John
Do those axles look bad to you? Granted it looks low on the curb side, but alright on the streetside -except the pictures are so dark, maybe I am seeing the glint off the hub caps? I was thinking that it may be parked on a slanted driveway.
Also, the dents aint so bad, but dent free is dent free. What's wrong with saying minor blemishes?
Oh. Urgh. I just glimpsed the Chevy truck insignias on the hub caps. This thing has 'curb appeal' - like the rims are appealing to curbs!
Screeeeee!
One mans perception of a dent - could be another womens perception of a "Crater"
Hence the accompanying photos, hence buyer be ware, hence check out what you buy before you buy and see what is acceptable "dents and dings" for a 25+ Airstream.
Two of ours has dents and dings and our third has "craters and gashes"
