PBS Mobile America on TV today
if you are in LosAngeles and get KCET- ch 28,
its on now and will be repeated at 7pm tonight(Saturday).....
cool show that was shown a few months ago......

Bummer. Neither of the PBS stations out here in Chicago have it. I checked ahead 12 hours too.

Its a good show. They do a small segment on Airstream showing some of the old Airstream promotional films. It will be on KETC Channel 9 in St. Louis on March 24th at 8PM and March 30th at 5PM. Note this is being used in conjunction with a pledge drive so be prepared to edit it if you video tape.

We watched it last weekend on PBS Houston. They also showed it during the pledge drive.
You can make a pledge and receive the entire documentary. It is longer with some pieces that they do not show on the air. They include the Video and a book by the same author.
They have some very good segments on many vintage restorations of SOB's. Pretty good restoration work by some dedicated owners.

I did stay up and watch this last night...Would have liked to seen more Airstreams, but it was cool none the less!
I will probably order the video, I taped it but it was a PBS pledge drive so there were lots of interuptions. Thanks for the link to order it uwe, it was much more $$$ to get it from PBS. BTW I got the companion book for Christmas...it's cool too!

it is just a number the l.o.c. issues to a book they have. makes ordering the book easy to find at places like amazon etc.
usually it is on the inside cover or on the first page.
but since you provided the link, i can find it!

If you look at the link in uwe's post (03-09-2003 11:36 AM) there is a source for purchasing the video. I'm sure at this time the production run is too low for Amazon. Since they carry the book, you would think they would they will have the video soon...
