I bet it was for one of the following reasons:

1. Rockslides wiped out campgrounds.

2. Wildfires.

3. Flood.

To quote Lee Marvin in "Paint Your Wagon"... "Yes, I'll admit I've coveted my neighbor's wife... whenever I had a neighbor, and whenever he had a wife"... but that ain't it... not nearly so colorful. Pretty pedestrian, actually.

Now, I'm almost ashamed to admit the truth. No sex, drugs, or rock-n-roll. You guys have colored it so well, it's going to be a letdown!

Thanksgiving night we were all snug in our campers, me and my wife and young 'en in our 23' Safari enjoying the sights and smells of Yosemite (I can't remember now if my neighbor had a wife, or if I coveted her... ). We'd settled in for a nice post-thanksgiving dinner evening when the rangers drove through the campgrounds sounding the alert for a hundred-mile-an-hour wind storm that was suppost to strike the valley in the next couple of hours.

Some bureaucrat made the intelligent decision that all of the campers were in danger from 'Widowmakers'... those large branches that plummet down at the speed of Superman from the heights of the pines when they break off and spear unsuspecting lumbermen.

So, rather than have the USPS responsible for hundreds of dead campers speared by tree limbs, it was a much safer idea to turn all of the campers in the valley out into the passes into the hundred-mile-an-hour gusts to fend for ourselves and relieve the consciences of the nameless bureaucrats who would be responsible for the campers had they been left to fend for themselves.

And THAT, dear friends, is the anticlimatic story of being kicked out of Yosemite.

Now, ain'tcha glad ya asked?

Roger

Unhappy Major bummer

I was hoping for a really juicy Jerry Springer type story.
But all is not lost, you at least admitted that you might have coveted your neighbor's wife given the chance.
Anybody else been kicked out of an RV park? You can tell us because we are fellow streamers and do not repeat gossip so be sure to listen close the first time.

roger is cool

roger has even been known to camp with bikers!

to be honest, i would rather stay at a place with a little diversity. stayed at a all airstream park in florida that will remain nameless to protect the innocent.

very sterile, cool looking, but not alot of fun...

this is as exciting as it got!

Well at least we now know...thanks for sharing! A let down yes, but to not know would have been worse.

As for the neighbors wife...she could have lusted over you and well, I won't take it further....

Never a dull moment with you Rog!

Angry Good gravy!

All those RV's and not a single one to throw goony rocks at.

Maybe just a public service announcement over the park speaker " Will the owner of the Airstream trailer please move it elsewhere, it's on fire."

Also notice the conspicuous absence of pink flamingos. That is because the trailer trash kids ran over all of them.

No - probably kidnapped. Time to call the SPPF - Society for the Protection of Pink Flamingoes... have you joined yet?

On edit: Actually - come to think of it.... has anyone ever encountered restrictions at RV parks about those tacky (but lovable) plastic birds?

Oh my dear Janet

You are so cute and observant. When can your hubby come out of his box and play again?
I know it is against the rules to advertise here but I have flamingo food on sale this month. Email for details.

Rog (not to be confused with that other Roger who covets neighbor wifes and sleeps with bikers.)

So, in a campground with nothing but Airstreams, does it not get difficult to find your own, in the dark, after a night at the clubhouse..
