I don't like the term "RVing". Camping is what I do.

never cared for "RVing" either...moe termed it best, "dragging around a house".....but i was thinking in somewhat "Dylanesque"
manner, it may be "my home but its not my house"

what's in a name

When we finally get our Airstream, we won't be "camping" we won't be "RVing" - we'll be "Streaming". That will be the standard reply to those who ask what we're doing out there!

Tent camping? Not anymore.

The last time I camped in a tent was at a bluegrass festival. In the middle of the night a drunken banjo player staggered past my small, out-of-the-way, backpacking tent - tripped and fell over/on the tent and passed out. I woke up with a 250 lb bourboned-up, overall wearing, tent fly on top of me. Not fun!

My brother and I use to call it "car camping" , if you slept anywhere near your car. Real men camped at least 5 miles from their vehicle. Then we got tired of carrying 50 lbs
all day long.( and watching frail elderly women jog past us)
But here lies the beauty. I started sleeping out about
75 nights a year at the festivals, and with the girls tagging along, I just had to get an Airstream. ( for their comfort and safety )
I THINK ( but am not sure ) that bears and mountain lions hate
alluminum. ( maybe a salesman told me )
I still sleep in the van, and I can still sleep outside in a tent if I want to.
It's cool that there are all kinds of campers, and I want to be
a few different types.

( sometimes when I am in the shower of my 20' ( 52 ? )
I think back to hiking days when we would use sand and
dirt to wash our feet.)

So that's how you and your husband met. I just love romantic stories.

<that bears and mountain lions hate aluminum>
I figure if I'm in my airstream and a bear wants to get me, he's gonna need a can opener!

Porky,

I resent that.
I don't play the banjo.
