Oregon coast trip

Just got back from a 2000 mile trip from So. Cal to central Oregon coast. Stayed at Beverly Beach State Park. Nicest place I have ever been.
F 150 pulled the 19' Bambi great. Got about 12 mpg.

Lots of folks were very curious about the Bambi and really liked it.

Saw several old abandoned A/S's along country roads in Oregon and Northern Cal.

Plenty of room for the wife and me and small dog. Would have been tight though with one more.

I'm one happy A/Ser. The Bambi performed great no problems at all.

Sounds like a great trip. We'll probably be traveling up that way next summer. Can you tell me more about Beverly Beach, and can you post pics if you have them? Glad to hear you had such a good time and that your Bambi behaved itself!

That is why we have our Mini-Rally at Beverly Beach, it's a great place. Did you get to meet 'Campcollector', he's one of the park rangers who keep the park in tip top shape. If you want a good Bambi story check out his thread on rebuilding a crushed Bambi. The 2006 rally is in October at Beverly Beach you're invited. If you want there are 2 spots left for this year, come on back.

Small World

I saw that bambi at the park last week I was admiring the solar panel on the roof. Does it really make that much of a difference?

wbrownrr: Beverly Beach is outstanding. You camp in the woods but just a short walk to a beautiful beach. The coast there is very rough, lots of rocks high surf logs etc., not like So Cal beaches at all. There is a very nice hiking trail that starts in the park. Beautiful sunsets. The park is really clean also. Several lighthouses in the area to visit. Newport is a neat city to visit, eat some clam chowder at Mo's reasturant in Newport. I want to go back now!!

Everyone I met there was friendly and I had many interesting conversations.

Campcollector I think I saw your Bambi there as you were leaving. I was camped on the main road out of the park in the C section. The solar panel I have is a 50 watt solar pro plug and play. It keeps my battery charged up when I have the Bambi parked in storage. I have not boondocked with it yet. I don't think it would really give me that much power in such a situation. My plan is to buy another 50 watt panel but only hook the second one up when camped. With the plug and play model you can buy a cord that connects the two panels. From what I've read 100 watts should be sufficent for bondocking.

I wish you would have stopped to talk at the park. I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures.

On the job

I wasn't camper there at the time I was on the job and saw your Rig parked on the main two way road in C-loop. It would be neat if you could come to the october rally at BB.
