Soon, they will stop by and start asking questions.
That's pretty old, they still making them?
What year is that?
Can I see inside?
Really shiny, did you just wash it?

Welcome to the forum, greetings from central Kentucky

In some parks we've been in they will wonder how the heck you can live in that tiny little trailer with no slides. And that little pickup, some go down the road with pa pulling the big fiver with his monster truck and ma following behind in a car.

We do see more Airstreams than we have in recent years, there's another one in the park we're at right now.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to AirForums. This is the place to meet all kinds of nice folks with trailers like yours.

It's fun for me to be rather unique. I like Airstreams because of their iconic body, their efficient interiors, and their improved towing capability. And I especially like their famous longevity.

Here we are in a big RV park. The only Airstream in sight. Sorry for the off rotation on the posted photo.

Best phrase I heard this past trip out ... old school. The man making it was standing beside the biggest 5th wheel I ever seen in my life.

Taking it a day at a time ... no hurry

Can't wait!

I am due to pick up a beautiful 34 footer in the spring and I KNOW thexactly attention is something I'll have to get used to. This could be a great thing, as well. I have already reached out to my desired campground and the manager said he will do anything to get us in there because of how much he loves Airstreams. Hooray for the 1984 Excella, holding it down for the classic Americana lovers! See a teaser photo below, my grandparents have taken great care of this trailer and I hope to put thousands and thousands of miles on it! No name yet...

Keep strong, I am sure there are more benefits than negatives about the Airstream attention. I'll take it 100 times over living in a standard RV. And even though I am going into debt, not nearly as much as i could be to get into this lifestyle. Hopefully will be debt free in under 6 years!

Cheers!

My answer for that one "It didn't cost me a dime. I took it out of my children's inheritance."

Congratulations. That's a great looking trailer, even if it doesn't have a slide.

I always tell people that my wife bought it for me and I've learned never to ask how much she pays for things😊

My answer is, "It's paid for...my youngest son bought it"

(Absolute truth, btw)

I love the attention except when someone is passing you on the freeway and the slow down and maintain my speed to look at the trailer. One guy even had his cell phone out trying to snap a pic.. lol.

I have had a couple of close calls from idiots doing that. Cars have a tendency to go where the driver is looking. Being side swiped at 60 miles an hour is not my idea of fun.
