One more thing??

When we bought our new to us Safari about 3 years ago, it was with the intention of having everything we needed/wanted by the time we retired in Dec 2010. For the most part putting in the dishes, linens and clothes were pretty simple. But as we make more and more trips we find that there is always something else we need and/or want. Then we find stuff that we thought we needed and really don't need. We say with every trip "well we don;t need anything". We got the haha, tire pressure monitors, rugs, pumps and just most recently mud flaps (found a lake we would like to fish - put it is gravel for several miles). Plus more stuff. The list goes on and on, does it every end??????????? I'm guessing not. But we sure are having fun.
Oh and I forgot the flamingos & party lights.
Ps we started to add up the cost of all the things we have bought (the first year) and decided that it was better if we didn't see those figures on paper. talk about the national debt.

No kidding. My pile of camping stuff going back to a kerosene lantern I bought in the '60s is enormous. What I have learned is less stuff makes a better camping experience, the trick is to find your essentials and stick with them.

Susan pushed me over the edge with the pink flamingo door mat. ENOUGH already, said I.

You know, it's funny... I don't think we've packed exactly the same things two times that we've gone camping. Oh sure, we have our "staples" but our space is limited, so we pack only what we think we will use for a given trip. And after several trips of not using something, it gets left behind until we are SURE we are going to use it the next time. As hard as we try, we always take too many clothes and too much food. That's the hard one for us. We are especially limited in the truck bed since we have a tonneau cover. I've always considered this a good thing because we really have to plan for each trip, but even then sometimes we end up not using something. It's an on-going process I think. But we enjoy taking trips so we can work on figuring it out!
