Angry Old Airstream wasting away

There is an old airstream parked in a fenced area surrounded by junk cars in my area. It seems such a waste! Can't see it well enough to tell what model it may be. I would like to have a good Airstream but we are too old to take on renovating one!

That's a shame. I'm a old car guy, I've been there. You ask the owner if he wants to sell, no gonna fix it up someday, then you can slowly watch the car rust into the ground. I know, it's the owners right to do as he or she wants, but it hurts to se a thing of beauty waste away. MPJ

I once found a '37 Buick that was being held hostage in just that way. Fortunately, it was inside a barn. I kept after the owner nearly every time I saw him.

One day he came walking down my driveway and asked if I could come down to his house. I said "Leonard, is it about the Buick?" He said "Yes it is."

My wife now has a nice '37 Buick dual side mount four door sedan.

The old "Car in the Barn" story, and we got the car.

Ask the guy if he wants to sell it. Report back. Sneak over there and take some pictures...

While we camped our way north up the California coast this past Oct. we crossed into Oregon on hwy101 North from our stay at Jedidia Smith State park. Not to fat from the state line we passed them up. I could not believe it I had to turn around. I am not sure what year or models these are. It was very sad to see these here like this.

Man, I kinda like the grafitti - looks cool. Too bad they're in such disrepair tho. At least they'd be easy to ID if stolen.... If stolen? hahahahaha...

How does one go about legally "rescuing" a trailer that's abandoned like that? Which authority do you contact?

Find out who owns the property by going to the court house and looking at the tax map. If the land owner does not own the trailers he can get an abandon property title (in most states) or sell them as personal property (no title). It takes a few months with the abandon property because you have to list the announcement in the paper a few times.

"DADS" on the left is a 1957 (or possibly 1958) 30' Sovereign of the Road.

"BHC 2010 P2" appears to be 1962 model, probably a 28' Ambassador or 30' Sovereign.

Both bear unmistakable traits confirming that they were made at the California factory.

Dreamer?

It would be nice to think that by posting these photo's these could be rescued. I think the skins were in pretty good shape and the tires looked like they still held some air. The insides were trashed but still had gaucho and cabinets for stenciling new ones.
