well look at it this way... if you sleep now you will be rested up to play later... Your timming will be perfect for the coming of spring!
Happy trails!
Thanks! - Yup, the timing is perfect. We're planning some nice trips this summer.
Well I just spoke to the factory and it rolls off the line this afternoon. Tomorrow is the systems check then it's on it's way to New Mexico. There will be pictures posted next week! If I were any more excited I'd be pe... well, you get the picture!
Our first trip will be to City of Rocks and Caballo Lake State Parks in southern New Mexico.
Then we're heading up to Utah for a few days at Dead Horse State Park.
In between we'll head up to the Jemez Mts and Jemez Falls GC (US Forest Svc) for a day or two.
It's gonna be fun! There's so many cool places to camp in the Southwest!
Maybe you know this since you live in NM, but there is NO DUMPSTATION in City of Rocks. Only the Park host has hookups.
Wife and I love City of Rocks. It would be great to boondock between the boulders with other Airstreamers. We camped in the RV pull thu last time, but next time I plan to tuck the Airstream in the boulders...
I envy you already - I love NM... nothing better than traveling in NM (where I don't have allergies) and toting a new Airstream...

Are you planning on bringing the cats with you on your travels?
Yes it is exciting!
No. the little beasties are going to stay home for at least this summer. Our oldest one is almost 16 and his health isn't that great. Once he departs (which I'm not looking forward to it - he's a really sweet cat) we will be taking the other 2 on the road.

Yup - we're aware of the lack of a D/S at City of Rocks. That's why we planned it the way we did. We'll spend 2 nights at City of Rocks , then we're going to a full hook-up site at Caballo Lake for the following 4 nights.
We have a pull-through this time at City of Rocks so we have electircity for A/C. In the cooler weather we also plan to boondock in the rocks.
No allergies in NM?? The way it works here is that when people with allergies move here they no longer have their old ones and they develop a whole set of new ones.
No need to be envious - just come & move here! There's always room for a few more - particularly folks from Austin! (My violin teached is from Austin and she's really neat!)

Seriously, can't wait to see the "new toy"...now come down off that ceiling Jim!
Shari
Shari - LOL - I'm firmly up on that ceiling and I guess I'll be there at least through the summer! And yes.... I'm looking forward to having a vintage someday too!

If you keep this one long enough, it will be vintage. It'll save you money in the long run, because you won't have to buy another one.
Thanks Rodney! Have you made it to the Jemez yet?
Yes it is exciting!
,
Not yet, I gave my last final yesterday (enjoying late coffee and setting around while it rains this morning) and I wont be out of town until Sat. I am seriously considering stopping off at Montezuma and the Pecos canyon on the way, so it may be mid to late next week before I hit the Jemez. Then again, if the mood hits me while I'm driving, I might be there Sunday.
