OK - So here it is... FINALLY!!!

Let me introduce La Salsiccia d'Argento!

I won't say what it means in this post - just to see if anyone knows any Italian and can figure it out. I'm Italian with dual American/Italian citizenship and Rod is a bona fide Italophile, so we figured it was only fitting to give our new baby an Italian name.

We picked him up on Friday morning had drove him up to Placitas. It was pretty uneventful and we were both surprised how easy towing was. My only complaint is that I want to get wider mirrors - Rod is OK with what we have. Our driveway is pretty tricky to get into but Rod backed it in effortlessly which surprised us both!

We spent the remainder of Friday in disbelief that we are now officially Airstream owners - as we unpacked and moved in. We added a few personal touches (nothing to the extent of TB & Greg) but none the less it's ours! The punch list of items to be fixed is growing

Last night we just relaxed, uncorked a bottle of wine, listened to Sirius radio and enjoyed the sunset.

Anyhow - here are some pictures...

Most are self explanatory but the little welcome guy is a chain-saw "Toothy Moose" made up in Homer Alaska and the bottle of wine on the table is none other than "Happy Camper!" The view from the window above the guacho isn't a campground - it's what we see from our driveway.

Enjoy the pictures...

Jim

Jim,
WOW!!! What a beautiful Airstream, not to mention the property and that house!!! No grass to mow!!! It is raining cats and dogs here in PA and I am soon going to have to bale my grass!

Again beautiful trailer, now get out there and enjoy it.

Looks fabulous, Guys! Congratulations! We see you've been shopping for accessories...the teapot is perfect (and just like ours)... very Airstream-esque... We even tried to get some Happy Camper Wine but they cannot ship it to AZ for some dumb reason... Glad the first tow was a good one...bet you cann't wait to get it on the road! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Way to go both of you! It almost sounds the same but I think the French is nearly as fitting - aluminium d'argent. It looks like your new rolling home is parked at a celestial vortex. Trees and cornstalks interfere with finding cosmic convergences as easily up her. But getting it home feels good all the same. Salut!

Beautiful !!!

Congrats on the beautiful Airstream in a gorgeous location... There is just something about the desert southwest and Airstreams that seems perfect together.

And best of all you have no trees to ever come down on your Airstream...

best regards, Dave

Wonderful welcome home photos. Especially like the feeling in photo #2--an Airstream at it's best!
We remember the thrill of having ours in the driveway for the first time, and that rush never really goes away.
Have fun, and keep posting your beautiful photos once you get on the road!
Happy trails,

Jim and Rod,

Very, very nice!! I know just what you are going through. I still wander outside just to admire the beauty of our Airstream, and I doubt if the attraction will ever fade. You mentioned once before that your homeowner's association frowns on the prominent display of RV's. That's too bad, as yours really compliments your home. I think that an Airstream is the ultimate in 'yard art', and quite appropriate in your setting. It certainly rivals the bronze sculptures I've seen in Santa Fe in terms of aesthetic beauty , but I'm somewhat biased.

I noticed what looks like a Ford F150 in one of your photos. Will that be your tow vehicle? If so, I'm interested in how well it works towing your Airstream. We've beefed up our old suburban to tow ours, but it won't last forever, so I'm starting my research now for a new tow vehicle in a year or two.

Anyway, here's wishing you many enjoyable adventures in your new Airstream!
