Of Human Vagabondage. . .

Here is an article about RV'ing and CCD Airstreams in today's Star Tribune.
Sorry about the headline, our headline writers are sickos.

Sorry about the login required, it wasn't required when I copied the link, but now it is. And for some weird reason, I can't delete this thread.

At any rate, the article states that the CCD makes up 40% of total airstream sales, which reached $1.4 B last year. That's an increase of 83% in two years.

That article actually made the front page of the newspaper. Must have been a slow newsday. It even buried the Wichita BTK killer capture that captivated Fox News and wiped out the Forbes Business show Saturday morning.

I was more intrigued this morning about the article on the guy who retires at age 62 to live at the end of the road on Snowbank Lake near Ely, MN during the winter and takes his 5th wheeler south in the spring.

Don,

Our cookies are allowing us to read this stuff without sign-in. It is a free sign-up for anyone wanting to read the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. That seems to be a pain to go through to read newspapers online anymore.

I really don't believe the $1.4 B Airstream sales reported in the Star Tribune article. I looked at the 2004 Annual report; Thor's total sales of 'towables' in 2004 was $1.4 B, so that number includes all the other brands (Keystone, Breckenridge, Dutchmen), but doesn't include motorized Airstreams.
