not exactly airstream, but should be

did ya'll catch the news on the "Granny Cabin?" It is a 288 sq ft efficiency apartment that supposedly can be placed in an existing yard of a single family residence that would allow a senior to live with loved ones instead of nursing home, etc. These units do have some sophisticated electronic monitoring to "watch" the occupants and monitor vitals. It is a very, very good idea in my mind, but the minimum price tag is $65,000 and there may be governing authority permitting issues.

My wish would be that airstreams could be outfitted with the electronics, and used in the same manner, but without the permitting issues and the issue of what to do with the "unit" if and when "granny" passes away.

End of life scenes are a reality for me (I am 63) and I am encouraged by what I've heard in the news on this front.
whattaya think?

Jeepers, Bill, are you in good health? If so, you should have something around 20+ years to go. Don't go planning your funeral just yet, OK?

As for spending the last years in an AS, just not practical really, is it? I mean, you won't be able to do many repairs, there is NO room for a wheelchair, and why try cooking your own meals on a propane stove when there are nice apartments that will assist you in doing that or even do it for you?

Let's not even get into the winter situation, unless you're planning on being waaay south.

The thing is, you really don't want to be alone then, I figure. Too many things get hard to do on your own.

I guarantee you will be happier if you are around others in your Golden Years, so start thinking alone those lines, you might feel better about it!
