New vs. Older

As I get accustomed to our new trailer (been all the way: tent, tt, 5er, MH) and am getting a little more into Airstreams....I am beginning to realize that I did not get, what some of you have, for my money....

No streamliner upper windows, no blue Excella stripe (or Soverign or whatever) , no upper clearance (marker lights) and no feelings of somebody-has-had-this-problem-before feelings.

So guess your Airstreams in good condition are worth a lot of $.

Yeah, you also didn't get a rotten floor, a furnace that only clicks and a refrigerator that smells like amonia. What a bummer.

unfortunate

Kistler,

It's understandable how you feel about the windows, steps, marker's & stripe, but you did get an excellent trailer for the money. I guess A/S had to reduce some of the options, ie black-water tank back-flush & cabinets to make it a more afforable trailer.
It will hold it's value as long as it's maintained and maybe down the road you'll find a late model excella and sell the safari.
Good Luck, John

Is yours a safari or classic, because I thought a classic was the same as an excella? Maybe someone out there can explain!

Hey, affirmation is kindly appreciated. I guess that if we didn't wish to stay in the 25', 22', perameters we could (money is always a consideration here) have gotten stripes and pizzaz.

I just think that there is nothing in TTs better than an Excella somewhere (when we couldn't afford it) in the 80's or maybe 90's that had EVERYTHING.

I love the Excella too. I don't have the streamliner windows, but the just od the package is sweet. In bought mine last Jan. for $17K. Beautiful condition and have enjoyed every minute.
Keep Smiling, John

Was in dealer's stock, Classic, yes BUT it is not the same Airstream of other years...don't know if it is an improvement...guess it weighs less...

I don't know if options were/are available. It has that septic clean-out stuff and the cabinetry is better BUT no Excella stripe (:

Kistler

PS -- We are happy with it. It just isn't the same trailer we once wanted ...when we were 30ish.
