New to Airstream

Just baught a 1983 Limited 34ft. Beautiful peace of equipment and in good shape. I was wondering if anyone had a manuel for it that I could either buy or copy. I am trying to find out what the specs are. Mainly the tongue weight, water and holding capacities ect.

By the way I am not a Wally member but the number on the unit is 12345!! Anything I can find out from this about its past?

Thanks
David

welcome

You can get photocopies of owners manual (1964+) and service manuals (1972-1986) from:

Helen Davis Secretarial Services
PO Box 484 Sidney, OH 45365
(937)492-8885

Prices are about $33 and $70 respectively. After 1986 the Owners Manuals included available service information.

Good luck with your new Airstream. Any questions, someone here will have the answer.

You may find the FAQ Section on the Airstream Corporate website to be helpful until your Owner's Manual arrives from Helen Davis.

There is a Tongue Weight reference sheet there that lists the TW as follows:

'83 Limited 34' - Center Bath = 770
'83 Limited 34' - Rear Bath = 800

Thanks,
I did not expect such fast replies. This is a great forum and "family" I am a photographer in Las Vegas "sin city" and plan on hitting the road in a year or so.

Thanks again all

Hi dmadam;

Re: WBCCI# 12345

If you are partial to keeping the original number on your coach you can request it from WBCCI speak with Kathy - she was a great help with ours.

If the numbers have lapsed you can reserve them under your name.

Our numbers are in such great shape that we did not want to remove them they are now registered under our name.

WBCCI can provide you with the name only of the person they were last registered to but that is about it. The rest of the research is up to you.

Good luck and welcome - from another newbie - only a month in....

Smile Another welcome!

We've only had our tri-axle for about a year (Memorial Day Weekend, 2003). It's nice to see other tri-axle folks out there! Feel free to compare notes any time you need to!

According to the Airstream weights chart, your 34' (either center or rear bath) has a dry weight (without options) of 6950 and a hitch weight of 700lbs. The hitchball height is 18.75".

I don't know what the other capacities are for sure on an '83. Hopefully one of the other members can give you exact figures.

Enjoy your coach! You've got the best!

Roger
