Thanks to everyone who has donated so far!

Thanks to all those who have generously donated so far!!!

I would like to give everyone an update, only 24 hours after making a request for donations we are already at 74% of our goal! We need $250 more and I will stop accepting money.

I should have the server tomorrow and the RAM next week. After that it will take a couple of weeks to get Linux installed and the server moved to the data center. So we are looking at moving near the end of the month or early November.

Thanks again!

Got me a chip in the big game as well!

Thanks Andy--you've got mail!

Thumbs up

I just sent my donation. Paypal seemed to work fine.

Andy, I know how much time you must invest in a site like this. It is the best forum site I have seen, including where I used to work, and we had a multi-million dollar IT organization.

Few people can make this level of contribution to an organization. The Airstream community is very lucky to have you in their ranks.

Thanks again,

I have a few bucks going in the mail today. It sure won't match the wealth of knowledge I have picked up here, but hope it helps.

Best wishes.

We reached our goal!!!!

Thank you all who donated! I will be turning off that PayPal account so that no more donations can be given. Our new server should be online in 3-4 weeks.

Thanks again!

We all appreciate the extraordinary job you did, do and keep doing here and we read you don't like asking but just know that you can. You gave so much to all of us for free, that we'd like to give back.

Maybe you want a few days off, relax or just some extra hands on the keyboard. I'm a professional web designer, feel free to use me whenever you want. Just email me:

Don't feel bad. This situation shows you the level of integrity with .Andy being the webmaster of this forum.
He stated his goal and when it was reached he stopped the donations.

Out To Lunch

I feel bad too. I had no idea this was going on. Oh well...what comes around, goes around...and there'll be another need another day...

I would like to add about Pay Pal...that I do know that they are very hard to get money out of... the person doing the 'collecting' (of money---being PAID) is supposed to keep DOUBLE that money in the Pay Pal account in the event of a refund request. If you have a unscrupulous 'collector"...then you've got problems. My son was OUT $1,000.00 from such a person--- whom it turned out wasn't really that bad... but Pay Pal pretty much told her that if she didn't refund him the money...she'd be BANNED from every using their services again. THAT would be rough! & my son got a full refund from her because of that.
Unfortunately, they are part of eBay...and, are similar to that, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of competition for any of them.
However, they are (all of those) reputable, and have strict guidelines. Yes, they do confirm your account with deposits of .03cents and .07cents, etc. And they are strict about names that no one can 'come in' and try to access your account. I think they are big BECAUSE they are that reputable---and THAT strict.

Andy...THANK YOU... you deserve some kind of Airstream honour &/or medal. Really! What would any of us do without this Forum? I can't imagine. & I would have invested something if I had known about it.
Getting in on this Thread, perhaps I'll be notified if you ever need contirubtions again.
